When Hope Meets Action: Projects of Hope & What Ever It Takes

We’re proud to be partnering with Projects of Hope to support their amazing mahi for tamariki and whānau in Kenya. This kaupapa is about more than fundraising—it’s about creating genuine, lasting partnerships that cross oceans and connect hearts.

Our fundraising event:
Projects of Hope Virtual 5K Walk/Run
Anyone, anywhere can join in—walk, roll, stroll, jog, or run 5 kilometres at your own pace, with your whānau or solo. There’s no official starting line, no clock, and no restrictions: you choose your route and when you complete it! All you need is 14 days from registration to reach your 5K, and every step directly supports children and communities in Kenya.

Through whakawhanaungatanga, our What Ever It Takes whānau and carecrew are building bridges of aroha, awhi, and support—helping tamariki and communities thrive, both in Aotearoa and around the world.

These global connections show what’s possible when we join forces for a greater purpose. By supporting one another, we uplift lives, spread hope, and create positive change that ripples across generations and continents.

Let’s celebrate the power of meaningful partnerships—together, we’re making a difference everywhere.

This week.we had our full audit against the new Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability Services Standard and we hit the ball out of the park. The standout....our practise model Ngākau Purotu. What better way to celebrate than to have a game of Sequence 💜

We started off as colleagues, then became partners in care, quickly becoming friends and now we are whānau. Pati was one of our first kiritaki - approaching us to provide his care in 2007. In some ways we were learning and growing together but along the way we’ve had many battles with the system as well as alot of laughter - thankfully not too many tears 🙏🏾. It’s been a privilege to traverse this journey with you . Thank you for trusting us over the last 17 years and thank you for joining us to establish our dedicated WEITs Pasifika Team.

You are a Pou - a pillar of our community, making a difference and contributing endlessly. We are very proud to be part of your crew and we’re looking forward to celebrating your exciting projects.

Carers of people with complex disabilities and trauma play a vital role in providing daily support, care, and assistance for individuals who face significant challenges in mobility, communication, or daily functioning. These carers, often whānau members, help with everything from personal care and rehabilitation to emotional support and advocacy.

We recognise the immense contribution of both whānau carers and Kaiāwhina (support workers). Together, they create a nurturing environment where each person is cared for with compassion and respect, ensuring that their physical, emotional, and mental well-being is prioritised.

By empowering whānau carers with the right knowledge and tools and supporting them with our experienced attendants, we ensure that everyone receives personalised, effective care that helps them thrive. Together, we walk this path of healing, where independence and ones dignity is always at the forefront of what we do.

“Tau mārea ki uta, Taiparātia te amorei” — “A legacy epitomised by the passion in which the journey is discovered.”

This whakatauākī was gifted to us many years ago and is a powerful reminder of the journey we’ve shared with our clients and their whānau.

At What Ever It Takes, we are committed to providing rehabilitation that is fueled by aroha and genuine care, ensuring that every step forward is meaningful.

As we reflect on Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, we acknowledge the importance of connection — to language, to culture, and to the people we support. It’s these connections that shape the care we provide and guide our approach every day. 💚
