We are saddened to hear of Mr Parma Nands passing and offer our sincere condolences to his family and colleagues. Mr Nand was an excellent Cardiothoracic surgeon who always made time and capacity for our PMAL patients. We are very grateful. Rest well Mr Nand.

Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Mr Parma Nand
It is with heavy heart that we sadly note the passing away one of our great friends , Dr PARMA NAND , a community leader and and a integral part of the NZ Heart medicine and was also known worldwide for his contributions the Cardiothoracic Surgery and heart medicine.
Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Mr Parma Nand who had left us all suddenly earlier today in Auckland , New Zealand.
Mr Nand was a specialist in Adult Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery and was located in Auckland at the Auckland City Hospital and Mercy Specialists Centre.
Mr Parma Nand, was a well-known cardiothoracic surgeon was practising in Auckland City Hospital and Allevia Hospital. He has extensive qualifications and working experience in Fiji, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
He performed a range of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery as well as adult cardiac and lung transplantations with specific interest in coronary artery bypass procedure, mitral and aortic valve surgery, minimally invasive lung surgery including lung resections(lobectomy), pectus abnormality, chest deformity and treatments with Nuss bars. His other interests were aortic surgery involving aortic root and surgery including aortic valve sparing root replacements and aortic arch surgery.
Mr Nand volunteered his time and expertise leading a mobile cardiac surgery team as charity missions to Fiji and Samoa since 2006 and performing valve surgery and congenital procedures, and pacemaker implantations. Mr Nand maintained a very close relationship with the Fiji Islands and he has made a major contribution towards the health and well-being of numerous patients from Fiji.
Originally from Labasa m Fiji he will always will be remembered as the true medical servant to the people of Fiji.
