This morning I went for a walk/run in the park and bumped into a neighbour on the way home.
He smiled and said, “I didn’t know you go for runs — you don’t need it, you’re slim as it is.”
Without thinking, I immediately started justifying why I went for a run.
But later, I kept replaying his comment in my head.
Why is it that we so often connect exercise, movement, or “looking after ourselves” only with fixing a problem — losing weight, rehabbing an injury, recovering from illness?
Why don’t we see it just as much as a way to stay healthy, strong, energised — so we don’t get to the point of needing to fix something?
We service our cars before they break down.
Why not do the same for our bodies? 🚗💪
I get it — sometimes it’s hard to find the time, the motivation, or the right kind of support to make it happen.
💬 How do you look after your health, and what (or who) helps you keep going?
