💜June is Lipedema Awareness Month 💜

What a year it has been already.

This year has brought challenges, lessons, growth, and some incredible wins. I’ve had the privilege of supporting women with lipedema to better understand their bodies, improve their health, reduce inflammation, build strength, and regain confidence in themselves.

Every conversation, every client breakthrough, and every woman who finally felt seen and understood has reminded me why lipedema awareness matters so much.

Lipedema is still widely misunderstood, misdiagnosed, and often dismissed. That’s why this month is about continuing to educate, advocate, and share real stories from real women living with this condition.

Whether you’re newly diagnosed, still searching for answers, or years into your journey, know that you’re not alone.

Here’s to raising awareness, challenging outdated advice, and helping more women get the support they deserve.

💜 Happy Lipedema Awareness Month.

Lipedema awareness month is coming up in a few short days!

This simple infographic can help everyone understand what is happening under the skin for women living with this disease.

The Lipedema community has had a very tumultuous year so far — full of changes as millions of women collectively come together through the power of social media. The rise of celebrities like Doja Cat talking about her own experiences with lipedema have helped normalize fuller lower bodies and challenged the idea that there’s only one ‘acceptable’ body type.

Although, for many women with Lipedema these proportions aren’t just aesthetic they come with pain, inflammation, heaviness, bruising, and years of being dismissed by health professionals.

This month is about awareness.
Awareness that Lipedema is real.
Awareness that early support matters.
Awareness that women deserve answers before stage progression.

I started to show all women with lipedema that you can still pursue fitness, health, strength, and confidence WITH Lipedema.

Non surgery Client Results in 5 months.

If you want a coach who understands Lipedema beyond just “eat less and move more” — someone who actually cares about the WHY behind your inflammation, hormones, fluid retention and fatigue…

Want to see what my coaching clients have to say over the past 6 months? Take a look at these awesome testimonial’s my clients have kindly written about me.

Every woman with lipedema is different and my coaching honours this.

We have:

Different hormones.
Different inflammation levels.
Different nervous systems.
Different lifestyles.
Different flare triggers.
Different histories with dieting, stress, and exercise.

All of my clients come to me stuck in some form of loops: spinning their wheels that I am very good at quickly identifying:

• under-eating but not progressing
• overtraining then crashing during flare-ups
• all-or-nothing mindsets
• critical self-thought
• chronic inflammation and burnout
• constantly restarting every Monday

My job as a coach is to figure out YOUR loop, what’s driving it, and help you adapt in a way your body can actually sustain.

Sometimes that means improving recovery.
Sometimes it means supporting estrogen clearance.
Sometimes it means increasing calories, reducing stress, or changing the way you train entirely.

You do not need to fight your body forever. You need a strategy that works WITH it. 🤍

DM me ‘Loop’ if you want to out of your own loop.

So Lipedema tissue really is far more complex than “just fat.”
A brand new microscopy study by Hoffmann et al. (2026) found that lipedema fat cells more commonly showed unusual indented or ring-shaped nuclei called Lochkern a feature not typically seen in ordinary subcutaneous fat. While this does not explain the cause of lipedema or change treatment overnight, it adds to growing evidence that lipedema tissue behaves differently at a cellular level.

Researchers are continuing to investigate how inflammation, fibrosis, vascular changes, connective tissue abnormalities, and adipocyte dysfunction may contribute to the disease process.

This is why many women with lipedema feel so frustrated hearing “just lose weight” because emerging research suggests lipedema adipose tissue is biologically distinct from typical fat tissue.

Research in lipedema is still evolving, but studies like this help push recognition, understanding, and future treatment possibilities forward.

Skipping breakfast with lipedema? Here’s why you might be sabotaging yourself and your goals!

• Lipedema tissue is highly sensitive to stress hormones, especially cortisol. Skipping breakfast can delay and prolong cortisol release, keeping your body in a higher stress state later in the day.
• Elevated or mistimed cortisol can worsen inflammation, fluid retention, and pain in women with lipedema
• Missing the morning meal often destabilises blood sugar, increasing cravings, fatigue, and energy crashes that make movement and consistency harder.
• For a body already managing connective tissue dysfunction, poor nutrient timing adds another layer of metabolic stress.
• With lipedema, when you eat can be just as important as what you eat for hormone balance and nervous system regulation.
