Dear Kiwi Mango Lovers - A quick update from Mango Tango

As most of you are aware, India is facing a severe Pandemic wave with shortage of medical facilites at every corner of the country. People are vulnerable to the covid strain that is spreading like wild fire in India and keeping the best interest of Farmers, we have not commenced the Mango export this year. It doesn't look like this situation will change anytime soon and hence we will not be importing Mangos into New Zealand this year.

Yes, there are other influencing factors such as air cargo prices sky rocketing, local transportation during lockdown and most importantly the manpower are more prone to an infection working in mango farms whom we are not willing to risk at this time.

We are receiving heaps of enquires and we'd like to let everyone know Mango Tango will not import Mangos into New Zealand this year. If the situation changes in India (meaning if the pandemic rate reduces anytime soon) we will surely bring the best and the most yummiest Mango you've ever tasted.

We pray on your behalf for the safety of evey Indian citizen and the Indian Farmer

Out of all the Love and Respect we have for Farmers we decided to share what happens behind the scenes when procuring Mangoes.

Our Mangoes are hand picked from mineral rich farms around Khammam in Telangana and Chittoor in Andhra. Each Mango tree is aged between 25 to 30 years and produces over 1 ton of fruit every season.

We work directly with Farmers with absolute transparency . This ensures we get quality fruit based on Indian export guidelines. Orchard owners attain maximum benefit for the fruit as they struggle to grow a quality fruit all round the year keeping it free from pests, climatic hazards etc.

We are proud supporters of APEDA , MPI(NZ) and Horticulture Departments in India. Our never ending Love for Mango and the creator (Farmer) remains the same and we will strive to bring a great tasting Mango to the amazing KiWi land.

Dear Mango Lovers ,

Thank you all for the overwhelming response and love for mangoes. We have completely sold out our first shipment.

As you all are aware , it has been a great effort and hassle for us to import during the Covid situation especially with NZ having very little connectivity with the rest of the world and an elephant price to pay for the freight. We tried our best to bring the best fruit and cost you guys the most minimum possible .

We are endeavouring to bring in another few shipments with lovely tasting mangoes at bare minimum pricing that we can keep.
