Whānau Acknowledgement – Ngā mihi nui

Dinny Ratema Mohi 11.11.40 – 25.04.26

“Kua hinga te tōtara i Te Waonui-a-Tāne” A mighty tōtara has fallen in the great forest of Tāne.

Our whānau wish to express our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of aroha following the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved Dinny.
We have been truly moved by the countless messages, visits, koha, and expressions of support we have received. It has been both humbling and comforting to witness just how widely loved and deeply respected Dinny was throughout our community and beyond. The love shown reflects the life he lived and the many people he connected with along the way.

During this incredibly difficult time, your kindness has wrapped around us and carried us. The support we have felt has given us strength, and we are sincerely grateful to each and every one of you who stood beside us—whether near or far.

While our loss is profound, we take comfort in the legacy Dinny leaves behind—one grounded in hard work, devotion to his whānau, and the strong friendships he built over a lifetime. His influence and values will continue to guide us.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your aroha, your presence, and your support.

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa,
Val, Dean, Wendy, Huia and whānau
