Waterwell Clinic

Waterwell Clinic Holistic & natural skin treatments for eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea and more 🌿 Welcome to Iguchi Natural Health page.

This page is dedicated to empower you with information about health and well-being. I believe that true health comes from knowledge. Many of us are so disconnected with our own bodies that we no longer possess the ability to recognise signs and symptoms of illnesses, nor the means to mend it. Here I provide free information about handy health tips, latest natural health research and upcoming events. I, Kohei Iguchi, am a qualified Naturopath, Medical Herbalist and an Advanced Hemaview Practitioner. I am passionate about educating the community about natural health so that we can develop a world full of healthy and vibrant people living their lives to the fullest.

Taking care of your body today can save a lot of stress and discomfort tomorrow. 🌿

Small, consistent habits - like nourishing your skin, supporting digestion, managing stress, and getting enough rest - help prevent flare-ups and chronic issues before they start.

Prevention isn't just about avoiding illness; it's about giving your body the support it needs to thrive naturally. By listening to your body and responding with gentle, holistic care, you can stay balanced and resilient.

You might be treating the wrong kind of eczema! 😳

Eczema isn't a one-size-fits-all condition. In fact, there are several types - and each one comes with its own unique triggers, underlying causes, and best approaches to care.

Some forms of eczema are rooted in gut or liver imbalances, while others are linked to immune system overactivity, allergies, stress, or even bacterial and fungal infections. That's why what works for one person might not work for another - and why identifying your specific type is the first step toward lasting relief.

We've listed the different types of eczema and their common causes in the carousel below - swipe left to learn more and see which one sounds most like yours.

We've also prepared a downloadable handout for those who want a deeper understanding - link in bio.

Most New Year’s resolutions don’t fail because of lack of motivation - they fail because we try to change everything at once.

🐍 2025, the Year of the Snake, asked us to shed old habits and identities that no longer fit.
🐎 2026, the Year of the Horse, is about momentum, direction, and moving forward with intention.

If you want this year to be different, remember this:
✨ You can’t add without subtracting
✨ The journey matters just as much as the destination
✨ Goals stick when they’re aligned with your why, not just your what

Choose fewer goals. Enjoy the process. Anchor your actions to what you truly want.

2026 isn’t about doing more - it’s about moving forward on purpose.

Save this for when motivation fades 🤍

Sunlight is one of those simple, quiet gifts that our bodies respond to in more ways than we often notice. Just a few mindful minutes in the morning light can awaken your body, support hormone balance, lift your mood, and help your skin thrive.

In particular, balanced sun exosure can:
✅ Boost vitamin D production (important for immune balance and skin repair)
✅ Reduce inflammation
✅ Increase melanin production (helps to further protect the skin from harmful UV exposure).

It's a gentle reminder that wellness often comes from small, intentional moments rather than grand gestures. Stepping outside, feeling the warmth on your skin, and breathing deeply isn't just refreshing - it's nurturing your body's natural processes and giving it what it needs to function at its best.

Of course, moderation matters. Aim for that gentle sunlight early in the morning or the late afternoon golden hour, for about 15-30 minutes each day. Too much can tip the balance, but when approached thoughtfully, sunlight becomes a subtle, daily ally for your health.

Did you know some of our most powerful skin-soothing remedies can be grown in the garden?

We're excited to share that our very own Kohei Iguchi was featured in New Zealand Gardener magazine talking about garden herbs that genuinely support skin health - especially for inflammation and healing. 🌿

One standout star? Kawakawa - a native Aotearoa herb treasured for generations in traditional rongoā Māori medicine. Kawakawa is rich in anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial compounds that help soothe redness, irritation and support skin healing when used topically. Whether it's eczema, dry patches, or general irritation, it's a true natural ally in skin wellness.

In this article, Kohei breaks down how herbs like Kawakawa can be part of an all-natural skin-support toolkit - all rooted in both traditional use and everyday practicality.

✨ Bonus: Kohei's Homemade Healing Balm Recipe
Swipe through to explore Kohei's DIY balm - a nourishing herbal formula you can make at home for calming and repairing irritated skin. This simple blend harnesses kawakawa's soothing power and pairs beautifully with supportive botanicals for deep hydration and gentle relief.

Our skin is quietly remarkable - renewing itself roughly every 28 days for a healthy adult, layer by layer, in a cycle that mirrors the rhythm of our bodies. This natural turnover is what keeps our complexion bright, resilient, and alive, even when life feels chaotic.

But as we age, the speed at which the skin regenerates sloooowwws dooowwwnn. 🐌

This is completely normal! Your metabolism slows down as you age. But there's a simple daily habit that promotes the rejuvenation of your skin.... SLEEP! 💤

A restful sleep each night of up to 7-9 hours helps to switch your body into Growth & Repair Mode, which:
✅ Boosts your collagen production
✅ Reduce inflammation
✅ Regulate moisture levels in your skin
✅ Encourage cell repair
✅ Increase blood flow (enhance nutrient delivery and removal of toxins)
✅ Reduce stress response (slows down the aging process)

We all know that a good-night's sleep can make you feel vibrant and healthy, but we often forget to proritise it! Make sure to build healthy habits around your sleep, like avoiding screens at night, keeping your room cool (18-20 degrees Celsius), avoid stimulating activities, and keeping a strict sleep time routine (your body loves predictable patterns!).

Take a stance for your skin each night and start prioritising your sleep!
