Hi folks, I've created this video and it’s the first of a series for my campaign. I’m running for re-election on the Hibiscus Bays Local Board (East Coast Bays).

I'm standing with the Backing the Bays team alongside Alexis Poppelbaum - Hibiscus and Bays Local Board, Julia Parfitt and our new candidate Mike Bishop.

Please get the message out to friends because voting numbers nationwide have been low.

It's been an honor & privilege to represent the Bays for the last 3 years. Watch this space for more of these, and don't forget to vote 4 ticks for Backing the Bays team.

Safer Connected Communities Browns Bay. I organised and facilitated a town safety meeting. Thanks to everyone that attended:
> Browns Bay Business Association
> Manley Esplanade Working Group
> The Sands Retirement Village
> Coastguard North Shore
> Erica Stanford MP representative
> New Zealand Police

Special thanks to Michael Alofa, Auckland Council Specialist advisor. There were two key issues leading the discussion as to how to make Browns Bay safer. 1- Problems such as, retail theft, homelessness. boy racing, drugs, violence etcetera. 2 - Providing solutions, ideas to reduce and minimize crime within our town centre and wider.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this project.

Safer Connections in the Browns Bay Town Centre Safety Improvements 🚗 🚶‍♂️
Alexis Poppelbaum Board chair, I and Julia Parfitt attended the "Have Your Say" at the Browns Bay Library today.

Alexis was working on a community project team with Auckland Transport, local residents, the Browns Bay Business Association and our Councillors John Watson and Wayne Walker, identified some sensible improvements to help the flow of the town centre and enhance pedestrian safety.

This was truly a collaborative co-design project working with AT staff.

The changes we're proposing include things like:
➡️ painting zebra crossing lines on the speed tables on Beachfront Lane
➡️ formalising a crossing across Clyde Road where Whitcoulls is
➡️ moving a crossing so it's close to Phoenix Plaza.

💡Please take the time to share your thoughts or let us know if there’s anything we’ve missed.

🗣We are holding another drop-in session Sat 10 May 10am-1pm at East Coast Bays Library

ANZAC Browns Bay 2025.
I attended the dawn and 9:00am parades with my fellow Bays Local members Alexis Poppelbaum - Hibiscus and Bays Local Board - Chair, Julia Parfitt & Victoria Short. Both services were incredibly special.

Two highlights from the 9am... the honour of witnessing David Gilbert, a 100 years old veteran Pilot, laying a wreath, and our Chair Alexis MCing the proceedings for the first time. It was also great to see Erica Stanford MP attend and lay a wreath.

I served in the NZ Armed Services and am proud to attend the parade each year. It's always a reminder of my time in service, but also to acknowledge those who went before me. Lest we forget.
