Starting your day with a protein-rich breakfast can do wonders for your energy, digestion, and hormone balance. Protein helps stabilise blood sugar levels, keeps you fuller for longer, and supports a healthy metabolism—key for weight management and gut health. Whether you prefer vegetarian options such as Greek yoghurt, chia seeds, pumpkin & sunflower seeds, tofu, or a good-quality protein smoothie, or you enjoy eggs, smoked salmon, free-range chicken, or lean beef, adding protein to your morning sets a strong foundation for the day ahead!
What are your favourite ways to add protein to your breakfast? I often toast sunflower and pumpkin seeds and add a heaped tablespoonful to my avocado on a thin slice of GF seeded bread or 100% rye toast. Adding pumpkin & sunflower seeds along with cinnamon to cooked apple is a good winter breakfast with protein added. Or eggs, avocado and spinach.
Whatever you prefer having some form of protein with your breakfast will help you get through the day.

Just thought I'd share some information about including fat in your diet. Fat is a vital nutrient for our health 💪
Our bodies need certain fats, which we can't make on our own, to:
⚡️ provide energy and help you to feel fuller for longer
⚡️ support cell function
⚡️ help produce key hormones
⚡️ absorb certain vitamins such as vitamin A and vitamin D
BUT‼️ It's important to know which types of fat are in our meals.
There are 3 main fat types:
🔸️ Unsaturated fats
🔸️ Saturated fats
🔸️ Trans fats
Unsaturated fats are the most beneficial, and are good for our bodies in moderation. They are considered heart-healthy, great for brain health, and can help lower 'bad' cholesterol.
Some saturated fats can also be beneficial (again, in moderation), while trans fats are considered a harmful type of fat.
Whole foods are an excellent source of unsaturated fats - some of our top picks are:
🥑 Avocados
🥜 Nuts and Seeds
🐟 Fatty fish (like salmon)
🫒 Olive oil
🥚 Eggs
🥥 Coconut

You’re eating all the “healthy” foods - but still not seeing results?
You’ve cut sugar. You’ve added greens. You’re following the rules.
So why are you still bloated, tired, or struggling to lose weight?
Here’s the truth: “Healthy” isn’t the same for everyone.
What your body needs is different from your best friend, your sister — even your past self.
That’s where Metabolic Balance comes in.
We don’t guess. We test, using your blood work, personal healthy history and food preferences to build a personalised nutrition plan that works for you.
