Let’s talk about the real reason your body is holding onto the baby weight — it’s not lack of exercise or willpower.

It’s exhaustion. And not just “I need a nap” tired.

I’m talking deep, hormonal exhaustion that messes with your mood, your hunger, your motivation, how your body recovers and makes sticking to a calorie deficit feel impossible.

But here’s the good news — you don’t need to magically start getting 8 hours of sleep to feel better.

You just need to support your body smarter through this season.

Inside my 7-Day Sleep Fix Checklist, I break it down into 7 simple shifts that help your body recover — even when your nights are broken. Here’s a sneak peek:

1. **Wake Up & Walk (Even Just 5 Minutes)**
Morning light regulates circadian rhythms for better nighttime sleep plus boosts energy.

2. **Set a Loose Bedtime (Yes, For You)**
Consistent sleep/wake times help regulate melatonin and improve mood.

3. **Lower Lights After 7 PM**
Bright lights trick the brain into thinking it’s still day; dimming them helps with wind-down time.

4. **Bedtime Snack That Won't Wreck Sleep**
Going to bed hungry or too full disrupts rest; a calming snack can ease you into slumber.

5. **Swap Scrolling for Wind-Down Cue**
Screens activate the brain and suppress melatonin; opt for calming activities instead!

6. **Midday Reset = More Nighttime Rest**
A quick nap lowers cortisol levels and combats overtiredness that affects bedtime quality.

7. **Redefine Rest — Stop Chasing Perfect Sleep**
Shift your mindset from controlling sleep to supporting recovery in other ways—your body will respond positively!

✨ Tip 2: Include Plenty of Wholegrains Each Day Base your meals around wholegrains like oats, brown rice, and wholegrain bread to keep your energy levels up. 🌾🍞

✨ Tip 3: Include 2-3 Portions of Dairy or Dairy Alternatives Each Day Dairy products or fortified alternatives provide essential calcium for you and your baby’s bones. 🥛🧀

✨ Tip 4: Include 2-3 Portions of Beans, Pulses, Fish, Eggs, Meat, and Other Proteins Each Day These protein sources are vital for your baby’s growth and development. 🥚🍗

✨ Tip 5: Try to Include 2 Portions of Fish Each Week, One of Which Should Be Oily Fish Fish, especially oily fish like salmon, is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are crucial for your baby’s brain development. 🐟

✨ Tip 6: Stay Hydrated Drink 6-8 glasses of fluid daily, but you might need more during pregnancy to stay hydrated. 💧
