Gelatine has been ranged since 2014 when we kicked off to support the wellness space but out of nowhere a TikTok trend seemed to pop out of nowhere and we’ve scrambled to keep up with demand.

Locally grown pumpkin seeds hit Kilo HQ today as we continue reaching out to local growers.

400g or 800g options are now ready to ship out nationwide.

Our pumpkins are spray free, sun ripened and the seeds are harvested in the field.

Locally grown ensures that the food miles and carbon footprint are minimized.

The seed processing and packaging is also done on farm delivering authentic quality control from paddock to customer. The pumpkin seeds are processed as little as possible so that the seeds retain their natural goodness and nutritional value.

DELICIOUS

The nutty crunch of our pumpkin seeds makes them incredibly versatile for both sweet and savoury dishes.

A handful or two of raw or toasted pumpkin seeds mixed into store bought or homemade muesli adds delicious texture and lots of nutritional benefits.

Or dry roast some pumpkin and sunflower seeds in a pan, when they’re browning nicely, toss in a tablespoon or 2 of soy sauce and allow it to cook off. When all the liquid has evaporated put the seeds on a plate to cool – place in a bowl as a simple and very morish nibble to go with drinks, or toss through a salad . . .

NUTRITIOUS

Pepita – Pumpkin seeds are packed full of easily digestible protein as well as a range of beneficial vitamins and minerals.

They are great for the heart and liver as they contain good levels of omega 3 and 6 as well as antioxidants. They are a rich source of magnesium, manganese and zinc which are used throughout the body.

Supporting local has made the arrival we’ve been waiting for with locally grown pumpkin seeds.

Clare and Grant purchased the business and we’re excited to support them with their first season.

The pumpkin seeds are 100% natural, raw and wholesome. Grown on their family farm in rural Whanganui with integrity, traceability and low food miles. We are hands on, ensuring quality control, from planting, managing the crop spray free, to processing and marketing.

GraiNOla has had a small tweak in pack size as we align our range constantly to what Kilo represents.

House graiNOla is now in a 1kg bag or 500g meaning less packaging and sharper pricing as we reduce our bag cost down.

The 500g or 1kg are now live with freshly roasted grainola rolling out of our kitchen weekly.

Drop a handful into your morning smoothie for a protein boost, sprinkle over winter porridge or try it over a homemade apple crumble.

Gelatine is back after several weeks of awaiting another batch of our locally made goodies.

There’s many ways of using gelatine other than just a setting agent with some choosing to use as an alternative to collagen.

These come in 500g packs and we have made the price more approachable per Kilo than the smaller options more widely available.

The pantry staples continue to replenish with almond meal/flour joining the collection with a sharper price.

There’s two styles in the market “almond meal” which is generally raw almonds blended with skin on or blanched almond flour which has the skin off with a finer texture, we’ve always stocked the blanched flour for the passionate baker.

Pop a tablespoon in a smoothie for a little more protein, used to bake gluten free biscuits or even to bind meat balls for the air fryer.
