Botulinum toxin (BTX) ingredients – What's in it? Botulinum toxin (BTX) is used for three main purposes: muscle spasm control, severe underarm sweating and cosmetic improvement. The main ingredient in Botulinum toxin (BTX) is a neurotoxin, it’s the active ingredient that contains botulinum toxin type A (the active ingredient), human albumin (a protein found in human blood plasma) and sodium chloride. Human albumin is a common protein in blood plasma which is produced by the liver. Sodium chloride is basically salt. The toxin in question is made by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum which is extracted using a fermentation process. Why get Botulinum toxin (BTX)? Botulinum toxin (BTX) is used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or to prevent wrinkle formation such as frown lines, forehead and around the eyes, teeth grinding, headaches, TMJ pain , and as a non-surgical facial enhancement procedures such as reduce the size of wide Jaw. A trained registered health practitioner will give you this injection. Botulinum toxin (BTX) injections should be spaced at least 3 to 5 months apart. Your injection may be given into more than one area at a time, depending on the condition being treated.The effects of a Botulinum toxin (BTX) injection are temporary. Your symptoms may return completely within 3 months ti 5 months after an injection. What is Botulinum toxin (BTX) Procedure? Botulinum toxin (BTX) injected with a very small needle (like an acupuncture needle), so it causes very little pain upon injection. Botulinum toxin (BTX) does not cause irritation or inflammation. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring polymer found in all living organisms. The human dermis has a high percentage of HA, which hydrates the skin because of its high water-binding properties. HA is the predominant part of the viscoelastic intracellular matrix, which provides and maintains proper tissue volume and acts as a cushion to help protect the skin. The natural product, if injected into the skin, would be rapidly lost. To produce a longer-lasting HA, it must be made more robust and stable by cross-linking. * Cross-linked gels combine with naturally occurring HA to provide volume and support for 4 to 12 months.
