🌿 I don’t wear makeup — and I’m proud of it.
The beauty standards for women are insane! Being told that a mask is more beautiful than our collective, imperfect skin makes me upset. Our wrinkles, pimples, freckles — they’re all part of our stories, of how we choose to live, and of how our ancestors lived.
It takes time and patience to get comfortable in your own skin… I’m grateful I’ve given myself that time, in between solo parenting and volunteering for the community 🙌
Our beauty can be a guide, showing us what we want to change or what we need for our wellbeing. Makeup is an art form and a beautiful passion people have — but so is your story. You are important, and you matter.
Happy Mental Health Awareness Week, whānau! 😁
