Hi I’m Robert Muir, Chairman of Asthma NZ Inc. I am delighted to announce that on Saturday 17 March there was a resounding ‘yes’ vote on a proposal to merge Auckland Asthma Society and Asthma New Zealand.

The new organisation is called Asthma New Zealand Incorporated. It marks an exciting point in our history, and will enable us to deliver more asthma and COPD services to more people.

The Asthma Auckland page is no longer going to be updated, so please follow to keep up-to-date with the latest asthma and COPD news and views.

Today is the first day of spring! Around 80% of people with asthma also suffer from hay fever which can trigger a flare up even in well controlled asthma. A great tip to minimise the effects of pollen is to avoid drying your washing outside before 10am and after 3pm. Drying outdoors is better for the environment, so only use a drier if you're having a flare-up, or are feeling extra sensitive to pollen.
