We are currently looking for a hard-working, reliable and experienced Mussel Barge Skipper.
Job Description:
Safely operate, navigate and manage our mussel barge to support mussel farming operations.
Plan and coordinate marine farm activities, including seeding, harvesting, processing, maintenance, schedules, timetables and budgets.
Key Requirements:
Previous experience in marine operations, preferably in mussel farming or aquaculture.
Strong knowledge of marine safety regulations and vessel maintenance. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Must have a strong work ethic with good communication and teamwork skills and an ability to troubleshoot and resolve any operational, mechanical and staffing issues.

We are seeking a hard-working and reliable Mussel Barge Deckhand to join our team.
Job Description:
You will be an essential part of our mussel farming operations, working on board our barges, assisting
with daily operations, maintaining equipment, harvesting and ensuring the barge is operating
efficiently and safely.
This is a physically demanding role requiring a passion for working outdoors and a commitment to
high standards of quality and safety.
Key Requirements:
Previous experience working on the water or in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.
Excellent physical fitness and stamina for manual labour.
Strong communication skills.

Westpac Mussels Distributors Ltd is a family owned and operated business which grows, harvests, processes, packs, distributes and exports quality NZ Greenshell™ Mussels all over the world.
We are currently seeking honest, reliable, capable, fit people to fill roles as Marine Farm Workers on our harvesting vessels which operate out of the Te Kouma Wharf in the Coromandel.

No experience is necessary but preferred. On-the job training provided by skilled marine farmers. Good renumeration packages. Workdays can be variable, generally our crew work Monday through Saturday with early morning starts.

An ideal candidate would have great communication skills, a knowledge of mussel farming operations and harvesting equipment, and a basic knowledge of navigation, tides, coastlines, marine hazards, and the weather.

The role includes but is not limited to seeding, harvesting, mussel farm and mussel barge maintenance, and vessel compliance.

This role is best suited to those who live in the Coromandel area.

COMMERCIAL CLEANING SUPERVISOR

Our West Auckland processing factory, is seeking a Commercial Cleaning Supervisor to look after and work with a team of up to 7 staff for the afternoon/nightshift (approx. 3pm – 12 midnight). Monday - Friday

The successful applicant would need to have excellent organization and communication skills, and eye for detail.

A typical day in this busy and varied role will include scheduling and managing of staff, compliance checks, assembling and dismantling of processing equipment, applying cleaning chemicals, scrubbing and sweeping and hosing surfaces.

Westpac’s humble beginnings began in a West Auckland fish shop in the 1960s. Their main source of supply was seafood from the Auckland fish markets.
Today the fish markets are very different from the markets of the 60s, and this photograph is of the remaining Dalmatian fish mongers that still frequent them.
