We are a family-run business in Devonport entering our tenth year of operations and we are
looking forward to a busy 2021/22 season packed full of events. The majority of our events,
especially in the summer, are weddings and we have a maximum capacity of 150. We also host
Christmas parties, corporate functions, charity functions, celebrations of life, christening/baptism
celebrations and birthdays.
We are looking for an Events Manager to plan and deliver our events. Ideally, you will have three years of Hospitality experience and deliver large-scale functions within a professional environment.
These are some of the key attributes we are looking for:
β Confident managing multiple stakeholders i.e. finalising details for a wedding in a
few days whilst liaising with other clients about events in the future
β Confident when communicating with third-party suppliers such as DJs, bands, AV
suppliers, marquee and tent suppliers
β Experience with taking stock and making orders (beverages only)
β Confident to communicate with the Head Chef and the clients regarding menu
selections, allergens, last-minute changes
β Maintaining a calm demeanour under pressure, especially when dealing with clients.
β Able to work reactively and change elements of the event on the day
β Interest in food and wine
β Comfortable with acting as βthe faceβ of The Officers Mess on event days and during
planning meetings such as tastings and walk-throughs
β Hold a Current General Managers Certificate
β Managing our Facebook and Instagram accounts
