Today, I would like to explain why I became an acupuncturist for the first time. I am not very good at writing, but I will try my best. It would be appreciated if you could take a moment.
So, let's get right to it, why did I become an acupuncturist?! ...Actually, there is no certain reason for that.
When I was a high school student, I had no idea what I wanted to be or what I wanted to do, I just spent my days vaguely. It was just a suggestion from my family and friends as my mother owns her osteopathic clinic and my sister was a nurse. Eventually I started my study at an acupuncture school, but I was only working part-time instead of studying hard. (and I also loved hanging out with my friends!)
After a few years of study, I managed to graduate from school, got my national license, and started working at an acupuncture and moxibustion clinic.
At that time, I had a patient with back pain. After the treatment, the pain was almost completely gone and he was able to work easily. That was the first time that I received words of appreciation. Honestly I didn't really understand why the pain had gone down that much. But what I felt at that time was a great experience for me, which shaped who I am now.
Until then, I had never been thanked by anyone in my life. This experience made me really happy, and I sincerely thought "I want to help people more and more, to improve their health. I want to be a person who can make people happy."
Almost 10 years have passed since then, but I still cannot forget the happy feeling when I was able to help someone, and that makes me even more motivated.
I would like to continue what I can do for people in New Zealand.
