We’ll be closed only on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day — all other days, the studio remains open.

☀️ Hello Summer! ☀️

This Monday we officially welcome the season of sun, warmth, and bright days! We know the heat isn’t everyone’s favorite, so we’re making a little tweak to keep your practice comfy:

All 9:30am classes
All 5pm & 5:15pm classes
…will now be unheated. The room will still be warm from the day, but without the extra intensity of heaters.

We hope this makes your summer practice enjoyable and gentle, honoring all the needs of our HUM community. 🌿💛

Why We’re Not Participating in ClassPass Teacher Awards ✨

We’ve received a few questions about why our studio and teachers aren’t taking part in the ClassPass Teacher Awards this year, so we wanted to share our heart behind this decision.

While we always appreciate the love, support, and recognition our community shows, yoga is not and has never been about competition or comparison.
Creating a hierarchy of “best” teachers, studios, or classes can unintentionally feed the very mindset yoga invites us to soften: striving, measuring ourselves against others, and seeking external validation.

Our intention as a studio is to cultivate a space where everyone, teachers and students alike, can show up authentically, without pressure to perform or compete.
An award system built around voting and ranking simply doesn’t align with that intention. It feels, to us, like the opposite of what yoga teaches: community over competition, presence over performance, connection over comparison.

We’re endlessly grateful for every teacher who pours their heart into this practice and for every student who steps onto their mat with courage and curiosity. That is what we choose to honor.

Thank you for understanding, and thank you for being part of this community rooted in compassion, humility, and practice. 💛

Day 20 — Rest as Practice
We’re 21 days into our 30-day challenge now, and this may show up in the body and mind with a little bit of tenderness
Today is a reminder that rest is not the opposite of practice, it’s a form of practice in itself.

In yoga philosophy, we work with abhyāsa (steadiness, discipline) and vairāgya (softening, release).
One isn’t better than the other.
Both are needed. Both are yoga.

Some days, strength looks like staying in the pose, breathing through challenge, feeling your feet on the earth.
Other days, strength looks like listening to a quieter wisdom the one that says pause, soften, slow down.

Rest isn’t stepping away from commitment.
It’s honouring your body’s pace.
It’s supporting your nervous system.
It’s giving your practice space to land.

So today, give yourself permission to pause.
Permission to restore.
Permission to choose stillness if that’s what your body is asking for.

Both movement and rest belong.
