Fridays 2.30pm with Viv!

Our Active Agers class is designed to keep you moving well into your later years and be able to keep doing all the activities or sports that you enjoy.

The class focus is on maintaining muscle strength, flexibility, balance and functional movement necessary for healthy aging in a safe and supportive environment, at a pace that allows for even more hands-on adjustments and assistance. Recommended for the active ager 50+,along with those requiring a little more assistance.

Things just got a little sweeter for our members!

We have a fabulous membership bonus for all our current Platinum Plus members and new Platinum Plus memberships joined until the end of the year.

**Current Platinum Plus members:** You are now set up to automatically book an additional Reformer class per week through until December 31st as our thank you for your continued support!

**New Platinum Plus memberships:** Join before October 31st and receive 4 weekly Reformer classes for the price of 3, plus unlimited group classes (choose from Barre, Pilates Mat & Fusion, TRX & Stretch & Restore), VOD access, and 1 complimentary guest pass per month through to the end of the year!

**Platinum memberships:** Upgrade to the Platinum Plus membership before 31st Oct for an additional $20 per week or just $75 per month and experience the benefits of increasing your consistency in the lead up to year end. Upgrade available for 1, 2 or 3 months, you choose!

Join now for $85 per week or $335 per month. Classes roll over weekly and can be accumulated over a month to use as suits you best. The minimum membership term is 60 days, and memberships can be paused for a minimum of 7 days and a maximum of 1 month over a 12-month period.

Recipe of the Month : Zucchini & Chicken Meatballs

Ingredients:
500g ground chicken
1 zucchini, grated
½ cup panko breadcrumbs
½ cup crumbled feta
⅓ cup finely minced onion/shallot
2 Tbsp fresh dill or parsley
2 Tbsp minced jalapeño
1 tsp lemon zest
¾ tsp salt
¾ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp black pepper

Mix all ingredients in a bowl, roll into small meatballs (about 24).
Pan fry in olive oil until golden and cooked through (6–8 mins).

To serve:
With rice, tzatziki, and a cucumber–avocado salad (diced cucumber, avocado, herbs, lemon juice, olive oil, salt + pepper).

Let’s talk about Sarcopenia and bone health…

Sarcopenia is the name given to age-related loss of muscle and strength. A powerful reminder of the move it or lose it cliche!

Did you know that we start losing muscle mass in our thirties and that as we move into menopause and post-menopause our declining oestrogen levels also affect our precious muscles and our bone health? Menopause is the stage in our lives that we often start to notice changes in our muscles, joint and bone health along with changes in our nervous system as we lose the protection of oestrogen. Our muscle cells contain mitochondria organelles which is where energy is produced, as we age they reduce in size and number resulting in decreasing muscle size, tone and affecting our energy levels. The good news? We can fight it.

1. Strength train regularly – Reformer Pilates is one of the safest, most effective ways to build muscle and protect joints.

2. Keep moving daily – walking, hiking, or cycling all support muscle health.

3. Fuel wisely – focus on protein, plants, and anti-inflammatory foods.

4. Rest well – quality sleep is when muscles repair and grow.

5. Manage stress – lowering cortisol supports recovery and strength.

6. Strong muscles mean strength, mobility and energy for the long run.

Let’s talk about stress...

With spring well on it's way and the end of the year nearing, life often seems to get busier.

Stress not only affects our mental state, but it can sneak into the body too, leaving us with tight muscles, shallow breath, and that wired, agitated feeling.

Movement is one of the best ways to release that build-up. In Pilates, we focus on breath, control, and mindful movement, all of which help you reset and feel more balanced and ready to take on the world!
