From the 17th to the 23th August, we are celebrating LEA FAKA-TONGA 🇹🇴 TONGAN LANGUAGE WEEK

The theme for this year is "Ko 'etau lea, ko e fe’unu mahu’inga ia ki he mo’ui ‘a e Tonga - Our language is a vital strand of our Tongan culture".

A key aspect to looking after our HEALTH, is being able to stay CONNECTED to our culture. Our Pacific language weeks provide a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate and share the use of our languages in our homes, schools, workplaces, and wider communities ❤️

Using the Fonofale model of health, we recognise that connection is key to our wellbeing. One way to access the “offering” of our people is through communication.

As the weather gets colder, we know families want to keep their babies warm — but please be mindful of safe sleep practices. 🛏️

Sadly, there's been an increase in SUDI (Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy) often linked to unsafe co-sleeping arrangements.

Your baby should “moe” alone, on their back, and in their own safe “moega”🌟
