NZ wild bird rescue network

NZ wild bird rescue network This page aims to create a network of people with experience or interest in wild bird rescue in New Zealand. HAVE YOU FOUND AN INJURED / ORPHANED BIRD?

1.

Networking allows injured & orphaned birds to receive proper care and prompt transport to bird rescue facilities. Native or rare bird? Take it to your nearest bird rescue centre (see below), vet clinic or phone the SPCA who may collect it.

2. Non-native or common bird? Take it to your nearest vet clinic or bird rescue centre. If you are unable to follow the steps above, you can post publicly (not privately) on this page and on your local community page to see if someone local can help. AUCKLAND BIRD RESCUE:
74, Avonleigh road, Titirangi. Phone: 09-816 9219

IMPORTANT:
- The advice on this page does not replace veterinary treatment. If your bird is critically ill, do not delay getting it to a veterinarian or bird rescue facility as soon as possible.
- It is illegal to keep an endangered or protected species in your care without a DOC permit. Contact a bird rescue group or DOC if you have found an endangered bird species.
