I finally did it - 42.2km! π This day has been a dream of mine for quite a few years.. After 2 previous attempts of putting in the training & not making it to race day due to injury, I was determined yet weary & took it week by week in my training plan! I was feeling confident in my abilities & then suddenly .. just days before the Marathon a ni**le appeared.. Cautious & full of doubt, I took my fears and emotions to the start line & gave it my all through this ni**le in my left groin! The support along the course was like nothing I have experienced before! This gave me the energy I needed to continue the race every km of the way! Reaching that last km of the race & realising βI have made itβ I burst into tears as i listened to the crowd cheer and call out my name as I crossed the finish line! The pain, blood, sweat & tears have made it all worthwhile! I am beyond grateful for what I have achieved - belief, faith & what I held inside myself was everything i needed to get me through on the day! So here it is.. my journey over the last 12 weeks of training where I silently chipped away one run at a time to get to this day! Even though it took me years to finally achieve this.. I can now say I have officially run a Full Marathon π₯Ή ~ Itβs never too late to accomplish that goal, that dream..it will happen in the right time! π« π
