We are back from the Gold Coast after an inspiring weekend at the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA) Conference!

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with passionate colleagues from across the ditch and dive deep into the latest in hand therapy practice. The clinical content was both thought-provoking and practical— we’re walking away with new ideas and fresh motivation to keep improving outcomes for our patients.

Grateful for the shared knowledge, collaborative spirit, and of course, a beautiful backdrop to top it all off! ☀️

✋ SPLINTING IN ACTION ✋

We had an incredible time at our Orficast Splinting Workshop held at our brand new Airport Oaks Clinic!

Huge thanks to .medical for running the event and to Chris Ross for hosting. A special shoutout to Vanessa Zweck , for her insightful and practical presentation.

Our team loved getting hands on with the latest techniques using Orficast materials and will be sure to put them to use with our patients.

And as if that wasn’t enough…
We passed our 3rd ACC audit with flying colours!

A big shoutout to our amazing team whose commitment to excellence, care, and clinical standards made this possible. And our families who helped tirelessly with the move and setting up our new space.

Yesterday, we celebrated the grand opening of the Ormiston THTG Clinic—an exciting new chapter in hand therapy excellence!

Proudly independently owned and operated by experienced hand therapist Rebecca Tuhi. She is a passionate and skilled hand therapist, dedicated to helping individuals regain optimal hand and upper limb function. Her clinic offers personalised treatment plans tailored to address specific needs and goals, whether it’s rehabilitation after surgery, assistance with managing a chronic condition, or guidance in maximising hand function.

Located in the vibrant Ormiston community, the clinic provides a welcoming space for patients to receive comprehensive and compassionate care.

We are thrilled to have this new clinic in our community, offering accessible and specialised care to those in the Ormiston and East Tamaki areas.

✌🏼DYNAMIC SPLINTING👌🏼

Check out this custom dynamic splint made by Jesse for MCPJ flexion.

This design uses controlled tension to encourage flexion at the stiff MCPJs following multi-trauma. The patient is likely to undergo further surgery in future and achieving the best functional outcome for them is important to us.

Each one of our thermoplastic splints is custom made as no two hands or injuries are the same!

💕PINK SHIRT DAY 👚

Today is Pink Shirt Day in Aotearoa NZ — a powerful reminder to speak up, stand together, and stop bullying.

At Hand Therapy Group, we’re proud to wear pink and support a kinder, more inclusive community — both in our clinics and beyond. Let’s uplift one another, celebrate diversity, and create safe spaces where everyone feels seen and supported.

When not one, but TWO THTG minis fracture their wrists within days of each other 😣 at least their Mamas knew what to do to bypass the long wait at the A and E clinic.

Did you know you can come straight to see us after an injury? No referral or ACC claim is needed either, saving you time and $$

Bespoke rehabilitation for the upper limb.

With over 25 years combined hand therapy experience and a genuine passion for helping people, founders, Nikki, Emma and Laura had the vision to create a family-friendly hand therapy clinic (or two!) in their local suburbs.

The Hand Therapy Group was formed to provide accessible, top quality care to the community to ensure that every patient that walks through the clinic doors feels cared for and reaches their individual goals. Whether that be a return to the sport they love, taking care of their children, returning to work or simply having a better quality of life.

Hand therapy is the art and science of assessing and treating injuries and conditions of the upper limb. A number of therapeutic interventions may be used to assist patients to achieve their functional goals.

Hand Therapists are registered Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists who have undergone additional training in Hand Therapy. Through independent study, clinical experience and ongoing education they have become proficient in treatment of upper limb conditions resulting from injury, disease and congenital deformity.
