Protect Yourself and Your Whānau – Get Immunised Against Measles
Did you know that many adults and rangatahi born between 1969 and 2004 in Aotearoa New Zealand may not be fully protected against measles?
Measles is highly contagious, but it’s preventable. The best protection comes from two doses of the MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine, given at least four weeks apart.
✅ Check your immunisation status – it’s easy to find out if you’ve had one or two doses.
✅ Getting vaccinated helps protect vulnerable members of our community – including pēpi (babies), hapū māmā (pregnant women), and those with weakened immune systems.
💉 The MMR vaccine is free for everyone under 18, regardless of immigration status.
💉 If you're 18 or older, it's also free if you're eligible for publicly funded healthcare in Aotearoa.
Let’s work together to keep our communities safe and strong.
