Good afternoon, we are here!! we have arrived safe and sound. We have been fortunate to be able to rent a bach at Motuapa. Jess and Ella have settled in well. We are taking the next few days to settle in and get comfy. All going well we are going to get some fishing in, weather permitting šŸ¤£šŸ¤£. Angela is well on the way to making her dream of driving big trucks come true sooo proud of heršŸ˜šŸ˜all for now cheers George

Hi everyone, what's going on end of the year is approaching fast!!
big changes ahead for us next year, we are off on an adventure, Angela has been offered an opportunity to follow a life long dream of learning to drive a log truck. yes you read that right. So early in the new year we move to Turangi and go from there. I will be working online. oh and did I mention that Turangi happens to be on the shores of Lake Taupo might have to do a spot of fishing. that's all for now

hi all, had a very good reminder of the Fragility of life recently. received a p[hone call from an old co-worker informing me that one of my other co workers had died suddenly at work. scary stuff approximately the same age as me. As a consequence of this is I am addressing some niggling health issues and I have really started to appreciate those around me who matter to me. Part of the appreciation is letting then know that they matter in a way that they understand. not talking big dramatic gestures etc it is the little things a hug , a random compliment or even just calling them and chewing the fat. Give some thought what a full and meaningful life looks like to you, what do YOU want out of life?

Well hello one and all, been a while, we are at orange level long may it continue. it is interesting to see what our new normal will develop into. i am hearing a theme of intolerance in my work lately especially amongst our retail and hospo work force. remember they are human just like us and they are struggling just as much as we are. Supply chain issues are impacting everywhere longer delivery's lack of product yes its frustrating however can you control it no you can't!!. If yo can't directly see or touch it then its out of your control, so don't waste your precious time and energy getting into an internal dialogue about it. acknowledge it is a pain in the butt, then shift your focus to what matters the stuff you can control. We have a few days off with the Easter break enjoy stay safe and see you on the flipside

Hi Guys Summer is here yippee!! hope you are all getting out and about enjoying what you can when you can. the world is still in great state of flux and what is normal?? who knows ??
I have come to the conclusion that If i can't touch it or see it then I am not going to invest time and energy on the issue.
Do i get the jab or don't i that is a personal choice we all have to make, regardless of which option we make we have to live with the consequences of OUR choice!!. be kind to each other and if people wish to disclose their vaccination status respect their choice you don't have to agree with it however you need to respect it.
same goes for the Govt instructions around masks etc, those of us who took part in the 3 yearly democratic process gave these people permission to look over us like our parents used to and we do for our off spring. If we don't like how they are doing then use the next election as an opportunity to object. My father told me on more than 1 occasion if you don't vote then don't complain!!

be kind to yourself and those around you, do what you need to to look after yourself, Self care is critical whether you are at home or on the front line. Stay in touch with those that matter at time like this we need to remain physically distanced for our safety, however for our well being we need to remain socially connected!! so folks lets do the best we can and hopefully we will get through this in one piece.

Hi everyone well practicing what I preach and stepping away to take care of myself have almost completed a roadie round the east coast spent some time in Hicks Bay, even made it up to East Cape lighthouse, looks different close up, only ever seen it from out at sea. Highlights of the trip so far meeting some cool people in Hicks Bay, the Paua pies at the cafƩ in Tokomaru Bay they are delicious!! and the ice-cream shop on Marine Parade here in Napier the rum and rasin is very moreish and heading back to Turangi to pick up the boat and head for Wellington on Friday and all going well picking up my trophy trout on Palmerston Nth on the way past, that was from the last trip. Saw a notice in a shop yesterday about choosing to please people, the first person on the list needs to ourselves!!

Hi team,
Very sad day here at our house, today our dear friend and companion Bart the cat has departed this life, long live Bart!!
The circle of life really sucks sometimes, it helps remind us that we are not invulnerable and that we are feeling creatures.
These events are an opportunity to reflect on how fortunate we are to have had this identity/ personality in our lives . We are all the better for the experience. so one and all give those who matter a hug tell them you love them all creatures great and small

Hi everyone,
Christmas just around the corner. what a year the globe has had. Life is definitely different to what it was this time last year. For me it was the wheels falling off the boat trailer....!

I have had a week off to catch my breath as work is busy, and during that time reflected on what matters to me. Lots of stuff is important, however what matters is a whole different ball game.
What matters are those people, values, boundaries we hold dear.

A lot of people say "i want to be happy", I challenge that as to me Happy is a fleeting feeling the one we get when our latest trade purchase turns up or we win $10 on a scratchy.

I believe in contentment, contentment is that feeling you have all day, that warm fuzzy feeling of being safe, loved, cared for, being grateful for all you have in your life.

Contentment comes from within us it is not influenced by the constant bombardment of "you must have this to be happy" or "buy this gadget to make you life easier" "but wait there's more brigade.

Contentment is supported by doing what matters to you, being with the people that MATTER to you. Making choices that align with your values so that you are living a rich and meaningful life. Try it and see what happens......
