Yin Yoga is a practice suited to every body.
It's mostly floor based.
Poses are held anywhere from 30 seconds - 5 minutes. On your own mat, and mostly with eyes closed if that is comfortable.
Yin invites participants to connect with their own inner Yin state. Their inner feminine energy. We all hold inner feminine & masculine energies. Yin/Yang ☯️
Life to date has largely been dominated by being masculine dominant, Yang. Very outwardly focused, linear, structured, results driven, productive, direct.
Yin energy is mostly, expansive, receptive, fluid, restorative, emotive, creative... plus so much more.
Most people do not even know that they're Yin deficient.
Perhaps reaching burn out or fatigue long after the body has been sending signals.
If you're someone who doesn't like to stop or slow down, always needs to be doing something, focused on a task, distracting self with devices, people, work, tv, hobbies etc... there's a high chance you could be Yin deficient.
Sometimes we need to learn how to slow.
To breathe.
To come home to ourselves.
Because the noise has gotten so loud.
Yin Yoga is a wonderful space for such.
