YEE HAW 🤠
What a night! That was definitely a cowboy up kind of track lastnight Ruapuna Speedway
Heat 1: P3 → DNF
Sadly, while running P2 I was hit from behind by another driver, which bent my left rear radius rod and dropped my chain.
Got the car back to the pits, assessed the damage, and Quint, Connor, and Logan jumped straight in to replace the broken parts.
Heat 2: P12 → P5
Starting deep in the field after the DNF meant I had to pass as many cars as I could. I felt like I did an okay job working my way forward.
Feature: Started P9 → Finished P4
Got a few moves in early and settled into a rhythm. After a yellow, I got a great jump on the restart and got up beside other girl racer bonnie in our class. A tyre tap and a small wall ride later, I managed to make the pass and moved myself into P6.
And honestly, that’s probably where we would’ve finished, but as we all know, it’s not over until the chequered flag.
As Jayden was heading to the line, he and a lapped car came together, resulting in a massive roll. We hope they’re both doing okay today. That bumped me to P5, but the drama didn’t end there. The feature winner, Clay, was unfortunately disqualified due to his bonnet coming loose and hanging off the car. he clearly could see well enough to take the win.
🏁So in the end - P4 WIN for the Feature
Congrats to Boothy on the win, Shaun on 2nd, and Cooper on 3rd.
We now have a break until Dunedin 16/ 17 January /another new track for me.
As always, thank you so much to our sponsors
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
