There is a great inequity in Aotearoa for people suffering from cancer. With no ACC, government support, and very limited cancer charity funding actually going directly to rehabilitation, many people miss out and suffer unnecessarily.

The PINC & STEEL Foundation are a major beneficiary of the Dry July campaign this year, which means ALL funds raised by our team will go directly to rehabilitation services in Marlborough. We know from our work with patients, the sooner an individual has recovered from the side effects of cancer treatment, the sooner their quality of life can return.

I’m going dry this July to help make life better for people affected by cancer in the Marlborough area and would love you to support me in this mission.

If you would like to make a small donation to my team, the link to do so is:

I would really love your support ❤️

I've signed up to Dry July to raise money for people living with cancer.

YES - the Marlborough Womens Tri is happening this year!! Sunday 29th November!!

OH YES! The Marlborough Women's Triathlon is just around the corner - November 29th! We cannot wait!! Did you know that MWT is the longest running women's tri in the country? Aren't we lucky to have such an awesome community driven event still going in our region?

And YES the event is going ahead and if it’s your first triathlon you may be concerned about what to wear on the day:

This is a great entry level tri for anyone to try (lol - please stop us) 😊 But what is the best thing to wear if you haven’t done many of these before?

➡️ Wear what you are comfortable in, if you have tri shorts these are ideal but a basic pair of shorts or tights is fine with a fitting t-shirt or singlet on top (anything loose will be very annoying in the pool!).

➡️ You need to have your number on when you finish so attach this and it can stay on throughout the race. If you happen to have a race belt, use that to reduce the extra resistance in the pool.

➡️ Togs are generally not very comfortable for running or cycling in so just wear a sports bra under your top
Know what you need in the pool – the more you put on the more time required to put it on so consider if you need a swim cap, goggles or ear plugs. Note: the pool is shallow enough to walk in so you don’t actually have to swim it 😊

➡️ Don’t try anything new in the race – for example putting cleats on your bike, the possible time you think you might gain won’t much of a difference in this length of race.

Thanks for tuning in! And do stay tuned for more tips in the lead up to this AMAZING event!
