Mauri Ora Hīkoi ~ Join us to acknowledge Every Life Matters ✨

Leeanne Meikle is a writer, speaker, mother, and grandmother from Aotearoa New Zealand. Her life has been profoundly shaped by the loss of her brothers to su***de, alongside her own personal journey through mental unwellness and diagnoses, and the path of healing and understanding that followed.
These lived experiences inform the honesty and compassion she brings when speaking about grief, mental health, and the strength it takes to keep going.

Leeanne is the author of The Agape Bloom, a gentle yet powerful book for those who feel overwhelmed by their thoughts or life circumstances. At its heart is a simple message: when the mind becomes a cruel dictator in our lives, it is time for a sacred ceasefire. Copies of the book will be available at the event for those who wish to explore this message further.

Leeanne shares her story to help reduce shame, break isolation, and remind others that even in the darkest moments, connection, compassion, and hope are still possible.

Leeanne feels deeply honoured to stand with the Mauri Ora Hīkoi community in remembrance, truth, and light.

He wā anō whakamahia ai tēnei hei whakamihi i tētahi āhuatanga ✨

Congratulations to our Afi Leota who received a Governance Excellence Award at the recent Kiwa Governance Awards in Nelson.

Afi received his award alongside other respected Pacific and Māori community leaders, acknowledging his years of outstanding leadership and excellence in governance.

Afi’s wife, Lynette Leota, shared that this award was a well-deserved recognition of Afi’s humble service over the span of 26 years, across multiple sectors spanning church and community, both locally and internationally.

As part of acknowledging Afi and his amazing mahi, we also had a wee celebration in the tari ✨

Well done Afi, we are all so proud of you 👏👏✨

Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day ✨

The idea behind this day is simple 👉 by doing something kind, no matter how small, we can make a significant impact on someone’s life.

One act of kindness can turn someone’s day around, and it can also have a positive impact on the giver, so we encourage you to spread some kindness today.
This could be giving a compliment to someone, paying it forward, helping someone, listening or being present with a friend or whānau member, or volunteering your time 💫
