If you haven't been seen for an appointment in the practice for more than 3 years, Health NZ removes you from our funding register. We actively try and contact all our patients in this situation but sometimes it's easy for this to slip your mind when you are well and not needing us.

If you have been contacted by one of our admin team about re-registering, you can do this online via our website www.redwoodtownmedical.co.nz; simply click on the 'Enrol With Us' button. You will need to have your eligibility documents (NZ Birth Certificate or Passport) available to upload.

We are also enrolling patients new to the area by using the online form on our website or by popping into the practice.

From February 2026 clinicians will have the option to provide prescriptions for up to 12 months if it is clinically safe to do so. Pharmacies will continue to issue medications every 3 months regardless of the prescription duration.

There will be no changes to the current prescribing lengths for controlled medications.

There are a number of factors to consider when deciding if this is a safe option for your medication. So, we request that if you wish to discuss your prescription length, then please book a face-to-face appointment with a clinician.

Appointments bookings through Manage My Health are now live!

Did you know that you can generate a QR code for our Kiosk from your Manage My Health App? Our Kiosk (affectionately named RoboDoc) takes your blood pressure, height, weight and can even measure your temperature. Using the QR code puts the measurements into your records. RoboDoc is free to use and is available in our waiting room every day. No appointment necessary!

We will be closed on Monday, please head to our website for After Hours options, if it's a medical emergency please dial 111.

Phone Practice Plus your call will be redirected for virtual after-hours triage and assessment. They will advise if you require a virtual consultation (there may be a charge for a consultation).
