Here at Bluff Community Medical Centre we are currently experiencing high demand for appointments, and appreciate the feedback we have received from our community.
In response, we’ve been proactive in making changes to support both day-to-day appointments and the increased demand for urgent care, ensuring our community gets the care it needs.
Through our partnership with Ngā Kete Mātauranga Pounamu, we’ve been able to expand access to services for Bluff patients, including the ability for those working in Invercargill to see a GP at the Ngā Kete clinic He Puna Waiora Welllness Centre, minimizing time away from work.
We’re also offering free transport to Invercargill for patients facing transport challenges, not only for acute care but also for other secondary services. Our partnership has allowed for additional GP support onsite at Bluff, where we continue to prioritize care for enrolled Bluff patients. Additionally, we offer late-night appointments in Invercargill, telehealth consultations, and extended hours to better accommodate our patients. Both Bluff Community Medical Centre and He Puna Waiora Wellness Centre also offer Very Low Cost Access Services, ensuring that doctor visits are affordable at just $29.50, or $19.50 with a community services card.
While we acknowledge the current 2.5-week wait for non-urgent appointments, we are committed to addressing this and improving our services.
We are incredibly grateful to our dedicated staff, who have gone above and beyond to support our community, and we are always open to feedback.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out so we can continue to work together toward solutions.
