20/01/2025
With the start of 2025 and most people now back in the workplace, it is a good time to establish healthy eating routines.
Whether it be for fat loss, increased energy, mitigation of future health issues, or just because you aren’t happy with where you currently are, taking back control with nutrition and lifestyle is the way to go.
While every year seems to bring new fads in fat loss and new ways of losing fat fast, really, nothing much has changed in the last 22 years that I have been working with clients. The basics still apply to nearly everyone who wants to lose fat and get healthier.
You cannot get away from these basics:
Plan your week ahead, shop accordingly and prep food.
Pay attention to portion sizes, measure, don’t guess.
Protein is king, include a source of healthy protein at each meal and snack.
A large serving (a couple of handfuls) of higher fibre, lower carb veggies should feature in your lunch and your dinner.
Drink water/tea/coffee with minimal milk throughout the day.
Make time to include some kind of exercise in your week, most days for at least 30 minutes.
Be aware of mindless eating - keep a diary!
None of the above is especially difficult, the most difficult part is being ready to change, so that you do put in the effort required.
I am still working a few hours a week, mostly online, but if you would like to know how I may be able to help you and if you are ready to make some changes, drop me an email lynda@nutritionforlife.co.nz
Wishing you all the best for a healthy and happy 2025 where you reach your goals.
