Grinter's Funeral Home

Grinter's Funeral Home Proudly serving the people of Cambridge, Hamilton, and the surrounding areas with dignity and sinceri

Funeral Services are not about us - instead, they are about you and the person you are honoring, a time to say goodbye the way you want. Our primary role is simply to go quietly about our business, guiding and supporting you – and ensuring you get what you want, no matter your budget. Nothing gives us more pleasure than knowing we have helped to ease a family's suffering and grief - and hearing from them that we have made the funeral process one where they feel fully informed and involved. The more involvement from family makes it a real personalised send off. There is no set way - don’t settle for "it's always been done this way" funeral services when there are so many options available to you at a price you can afford. For refreshing, professional and dignified care where nothing is too much to ask, then talk to us today.

Our local cemeteries are more than resting places - they are spaces of the community’s history.

Every headstone tells a story. From pioneers who built Waipā, the families who shaped our traditions, and loved ones whose legacies still guide us today. Next time you visit Hautapu or Leamington Cemetery, take a moment to reflect on the lives behind the names.

These spaces remind us that our community is built on generations of care, resilience, and connection.

As the working year begins today for many, we would like to take a moment to honour the lives of those who have shaped our Cambridge community and our workplaces and are no longer with us.

May their contributions remind us to lead with integrity and purpose as we take on the opportunities ahead.

At this time of year, when kindness and community matter so much, we would like to share Isaac’s tribute page with our wider Cambridge community 🤍

Isaac was a brave wee boy whose life, though far too short, touched many hearts. As his family prepares to farewell their precious son, a Givealittle page has been created to help ease the financial pressures that come with years of medical care and now the cost of saying goodbye.

If you are in a position to support Isaac’s family, we invite you to visit his Givealittle page. Any contribution, no matter the size, or even sharing the page, would be deeply appreciated.

Cambridge has always shown incredible community spirit, and we know that compassion and generosity are especially strong at this time of year.

Thank you for standing alongside this family with care, kindness, and aroha.

There’s a myth that healing means letting go. But for many grieving people, staying connected in small, personal ways brings comfort.
For some, that connection might be cooking a favourite meal or baking a pavlova that reminds them of loved ones. Others might hang a special ornament, light a candle, volunteer in their honour, or start completely new traditions because the old ones feel too hard right now.

There is no right way to remember someone you love. This season, choose whatever feels honest, gentle, and meaningful for you.

Respect their final journey.

When you see a hearse or funeral procession, remember that this is someone’s last journey, and for their loved ones, it’s a deeply significant moment.

Please pause and show respect. Slow down. Allow the procession to stay together. A little patience and kindness go a long way in honouring a life and supporting grieving families.

Thank you for helping us honour life, love, and loss with dignity.🕊
