A very serious 🍅 Tomato Competition took place in the village, with Head Chef Lorenzo 👨‍🍳 and Chef Billie carefully judging entries on taste 😋, texture ✨, size 📏 and appearance 👀.

All under the watchful — and highly anticipatory — eyes of our Villagers 😄👏.

🥇 Brian Worth took out first place, with 🥈 Margaret Goldsmith and 🥉 Margaret Ranger close behind.

The stakes are high and the vines are thriving 🍅

Our Tomato Plant Competition is nearly at the judging stage, with winners being announced on Monday 5 February.

The tomatoes are looking very impressive on the vines, and we’re certain there’ll be plenty of excitement (and a little friendly rivalry!) as we wait for the big reveal.

Ribbons will be awarded… and of course, we’ll be celebrating with tomato on toast for morning tea — because what else would you do? 😄

The garden at the entry to The Wooshed has been bringing smiles all round 💗

Soft Dichondra ‘Silver Falls’ gently trails from the base of the planters, topped with fresh white petunias and finished with tall, graceful pink angelonia reaching for the sky.

HOUSEKEEPER

It is time to add a housekeeper to our existing team. Our staff are chosen for their skill and caring approach and we aim to create strong connections and trust with them. We will choose the right housekeeper for their attitude and fit in the team. 🥏🌿 It’s Never Too Late to Pick Up Your Game – Croquet! 🌿🥏

They say you’re never too old to learn something new, and our residents proved that earlier this week by giving croquet a go while the weather was beautifully settled. With a few swings, a few laughs, and plenty of good-natured competition, it didn’t take long for everyone to get into the spirit of the game.

Set in front of Arnold Cottage, the croquet lawn is a little hidden gem in summer - sheltered by trees in the early afternoon and the perfect spot to spend time wiling away the hours in good company.

Fresh air, gentle movement, and a classic game enjoyed at a relaxed pace - sometimes that’s all you need. 💚

🐑✂️ Shear Entertainment at Te Awa Lifecare! ✂️🐑

There was plenty of excitement today as The Lifestyle Block Bloke worked his magic, shearing our woolly friends and keeping the blokes of all ages thoroughly entertained in the process. From expert moves to a bit of good-natured banter, it was better than daytime TV!

The sheep, of course, are the real winner - now sporting a much shorter shear and clearly ready to take on the warmer weather in comfort and style. 🌞

A great day outdoors, a great yarn or two, and a reminder that simple pleasures are often the best ones.
