Have you heard of the PJ project?

Over 143,700 kids are living in poverty in New Zealand, meaning 1 in 8 children go without the basics, including a nice warm pair of PJs. The Kindness Collective Foundation has set a goal this year to distribute 20,000 sets of pyjamas to children nationwide who otherwise wouldn't have them.

After a wonderful day at Takapoto showjumping, one of the things I really wanted to do for Mother's Day was support the PJ Project by gifting some PJs to other Mums in NZ.

PS: Shout out to all the amazing mums out there, hope you had a fab Mothers Day!

It's incredible to see how humans can come together to help each other. As Desmond Tutu once said, "Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world." Just imagine if all of us in New Zealand each bought one pair of PJs for a young Tamariki in need, what a significant impact we could make!

Calling my FB community! If this initiative resonates with you, jump into your local warehouse and throw some PJs into the Warm Fuzzies bin!! When we looked in the Cambridge bin, we could see that some PJs and blankets had already been donated, so let's continue this momentum together! The initiative runs until July 31st.

We can make a difference together!

Received a panic call from my mom, who lives downhill from us: "Theresa, quick! Broady's head is stuck in the window." 🐴 Put on my gumboots and rushed down in the rain, only to find him looking through the window, keeping his head dry. 🙃😄 What a funny metaphor for life—sometimes all we need is another point of view!

As I walked the streets this morning of our small country town, Cambridge, I discovered two signs along the pathway that added a touch of inspiration to the scene. One sign read "Always laugh when you can; it is cheap medicine." Another, which initially made me laugh as I misread it! "I am a part (I thought it read Fart!) of all that I have seen".

These signs placed to be read as you walk by, serve as more than decorations. They are subtle reminders of the power of laughter and the profound connection we share with our surroundings. In a world often filled with hustle and bustle, these simple yet profound messages bring joy to our day to day life.

Thank you Waipā District Council ✨

Mental health in times of uncertainty - so much goodness packed into this conversation, 30 minutes but so worth the time out to fill up your cup with a thought provoking well-being convo.
“We don’t live our lives by what happens to us, we live our lives by what we tell ourselves happens to us”
“Neurons that fire together, wire together”
“Where are you in the resilience continuum in lockdown”?
“How are we making meaning of this world right now”?
“How are we responding to what we cannot control”?

How do we manage our Mental Health in times of uncertainty? Theresa Grainger, Karyn Janelle Davis and Peter Simunovich have the conversation. ...

🌹 Behind every successful woman is herself
🌹 Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think and loved more than you know.
🌹 Every womens success should be an inspiration to another. We are strongest when we cheer each other on.
I hope all the gorgeous Mums have had a fabulous day filled with love. 💗🥂💗

After sharing frustrations with a nurse on the current state of our society. Feeling like we are always hearing about intervention vs prevention and sick care versus health care. I felt hope hearing her response...
Theresa, I am also frustrated, the message needs to be focused more on a healthy balance of "FREE"
F- Food good nutrition
R- Rest good quality sleep
E- Exercise regular
E- Entertainment, doing what you love.
💗love it!💗
I know we have this mindset in many of our health care professionals, but the message is usually communicated from those in the general public that care about their health, and continually self learn about how to create a healthy lifestyle for themselves and their family. It is rare nowdays to hear words like, exercise, raw living foods, homegrown food, fostering healthy microbiome and mindset coming from our healthcare systems. Gosh I even turned on the TV last week to see one of the news channels celebrating a woman that had set a new record on how many donuts she could consume in a short timeframe!
Ministry of Health also have cornflakes as a recommended breakfast on their website!!
Sometimes I have to remind myself to stop, breath and most importantly turn off the mainstream media for a while. Remember to look at my family standing right in front of me, our homegrown gardens, the hills that surround us and feed that presence of love 💞, as I starve the distraction of frustration.
Grateful to be connected with like minded humans and the possibilities of what could be, versus what is. As we focus and act on more of this unrealised potential I feel hope that the current state in society will evolve.

"The point of maximum danger is the point of minimum fear. The best things in life are on the other side of fear" - Will Smith.
I was just searching up Skydiving NZ after attending an inspirational woman's leadership event last week.
Kirstie Ballie who represented NZ in track and field at the commonwealth games, shared her amazing journey that led her to becoming a qualified skydive instructor. She talked about how skydiving is a metaphor for falling forward into life to embrace your fears. It certainly is an amazing blissfull feeling. It has been gosh 17 years since I jumped out of a plane. Time to do it again!!!!

2020 Reflections...

 Accept what was, breath love into what is and sit in the wonder and curiosity of what could be.

 The world is full of good s**t and bad s**t, sharpen your senses to see it and see through it.

 Hold your loved ones close, tell them you love them and truly be with them in this now moment.

 Be a creator versus a consumer, find more fulfilment in the creation of life versus the consumption of buying more in life.

 It is not what happened that matters, it is how you choose to respond to it that matters. In every situation there is a space between the event and how you respond to it.

 When the s**t hits the fan remember your “Why” so your “What” has purpose and meaning.

 Grow your capacity so you can bounce back quickly, with compassion, creativity, and courage.

 There is always a reason to be in gratitude, to dance, laugh, learn, and love.

 Turn off our devices and turn on to ourselves, our loved ones and our inner calling.

 Feed your focus and starve the distractions.

 Love the person you spend the most time with – Yourself.

 It is ok to be perfectly imperfect, messy and unsure, when we see the cracks in the messy, we see where the light shines in.

 It is through the wave of chaos, we see order.

 Question!!!

 There is bias in everything, including the mainstream narrative that tells you it is the one source of truth. Diversify your media/mind feed.

 Let go of the energy vampires and naysayers, allow them to be who they are but not to be in the space of who you are.

 Smile at strangers, help someone with their groceries, share your umbrella in the rain.

 in business, integrate the P for Planet into the conversation of P for profit.

 Respect the gift nature has provided us, nurture the earth, build biodiversity, grow your own food, feed your microbiome and feel the lifeforce in your beating heart.

 Close your eyes and smile at the sun, hear the birds singing and take your shoes off to feel the energy vibrating through the souls of your bare feet.

 Sometimes we need to unlearn and put on a cap of curiosity to think and learn like a beginner.

 You are influenced by those around you, be purposeful with who you choose to invite into your tribe of influence.

 Breathe a smile into your heart as you raise a glass and toast to 2020… thank you to all the amazing humans I have connected with this year. A heartfelt toast to you 🙏🥂

Have you ever seen something like the below - Skatepark Herb garden!!
A friends 9 year old son had an opportunity to create a garden for agriculture day. His idea was to combine his passion for bmx with a garden.
When you are in the flow of creation, you see hidden patterns, experience new insights and connections.
This creation is a reflection of what it means to learn, create, problem solve. Skills our world needs, skills to live a full, inventive, limitless life!
Love it!!

This photo was snapped sitting around a bonfire, under the stars, talking with good friends about life!!
We smiled, laughed, shared perspectives, and while not every thought aligned, we smiled in the midst of polarity and allowed each human to share their interpretation of the world as seen through their eyes.
Grateful to be in the presence of such incredible minds and souls in this journey called life. 💗⚘💗

One for a weekend laugh! 🤣
I recall watching a WHO update a few months back where they had done studies putting Cov virus culture medium into different temperatures, it spiked and lived longer in cooler temperatures versus heated.
A further study in Oxford infectious disease (link below) simulated sunlight rapidly Inactivates SARS Cov2. So moral of the story, bring on Summer!

We will always have those cactus people, cactus places, cactus events in our life. Pain and pleasure exist at the ends of one extreme. How we engage is our choice. We may choose to sit in the pain, be with it for a while and then stand up and move forward.
The choices we make today on how we choose to engage and respond to our world will make a difference to our tomorrow.
Breathe a smile into your heart, rise up, shoulders back and step forward 🙂⚘⭐⚘🙂
