Perfect Habit provides timely Karaka update
Flying home from last to first, the Mark Forbes Kiltannon Stables trained 3YO gelding - Perfect Habit (pictured) - provided a timely pedigree update when taking out the Flipp Transport Ltd 3YO Sprint over 1200m at Trentham today in the first race on the card.
Ridden stylishly by inform jockey Joe Doyle, Perfect Habit was forced to the tail of the field, following a tardy beginning, only to peel out in the straight off a steady tempo and reel his rivals in with ease to win by a length running 1.09.88.
Perfect Habit is bred and raced by Cass Thoroughbreds Ltd and Fairweather Bloodstock Ltd and is the first foal from the unraced mare Bad Habits (Power).
Carlaw Park will offer a half-sibling to Perfect Habit at the 2026 New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Book 1 Yearling Sales next month.
Lot 297 (Profondo x Bad Habits) is by Windsor Park Stud exciting first season sire Profondo (Deep Impact) and derives from a family littered with recent black-type and a family continually recording updates.
This well-related filly is closely related to black-type performers such as Ruthless Dame (Gr.1), Sea Siren (Gr.1), Lady Dehere (Gr.2), Oracy (Gr.2), Oratorio (Gr.3), Lady Maroal (Listed), The Lady (Listed) and potential 2YO Karaka Million contender Torture (Listed winner).
Congratulations to all connections concerned!
