📢MOVING SOON!!

Some of you guessed it right, Muscle Maintenance is moving to a new location as of late October.

If you’re a client that’s visited the studio before you might have gotten an email notifying you of the changes, but if not watch this space! I will be posting more info as we are settled into the new studio room.

The last day at Performance Plus Physio will be the 1st of October, the studio will then be closed for 2 weeks. Back to regular hours from the 20th of October - limited availability next month so get in quick!

It’s the end of winter, spring is nearly here and I know I’m not the only one looking forward to it..
It’s been a particularly frosty and murky season with lots of colds and viruses going around, so it makes sense some of us might be feeling like we’re running on empty!🪫😪

When I’m feeling like I’m crawling through the week, hanging onto the idea of a sleep in as my only plan for the weekend, these are some habits I practice religiously to avoid burnout:

✨STRETCHING AND BREATHING - nothing fancy. Just showing mindfully. Some of my go tos are cobra to child pose, pigeon, happy baby and thread the needle.

✨JOURNALING - this is something I’ve been practicing regularly for about a year. It can feel a bit awkward and forced at first but I promise you, it gets easier. Just keep writing. I find that once my thoughts are on paper they’re out of my head.

✨NIGHTTIME SKINCARE - this is my ritual to wrap up the day. No crazy 15 steps routine, just a few good products and 10 minutes to wind down before bed.

✨TREATyourself - whether you have a sweet tooth or not, food is more than just fuel! Allowing yourself a treat along with good nutrition helps you maintain a positive and balanced approach to food. Especially when certain foods get absolutely demonised, it’s important not to live your life in scarcity mindset scared of indulging every once in a while.

✨TIME WITH PETS - this is for the animal lovers! Our fur babies don’t demand anything from us if not attention and quality time, possibly out of the house. I find it extremely relaxing and rewarding to spend a few hours outside giving Peppa my undivided attention. No pets at home? Just take yourself out for a walk or sit at the park. What a boost of endorphins!

Muscle Maintenance has grown immensely in the last few years, but this is only the beginning! In order to maintain our standards and keep improving the business you’ve come to love, a small price adjustment will go into effect from AUGUST 1ST 2025.

The majority of people with migraine experience symptoms before and/or after the headache phase of a migraine attack. This study delved into the experience of these symptoms in more detail across six different countries. Before the headache, common symptoms include neck stiffness, fatigue, sensitivity to light and sound and aura. After the headache, common symptoms include persisting fatigue, pain and difficulty concentrating. People who have symptoms before and after the headache phase have higher levels of disability and impairment. We need better treatments for the non-headache symptoms of migraine.

Hi team… I have been a little MIA as I’m taking some time off to reconnect with my parents visiting from Italy. We haven’t seen each other in nearly 5 years and I’ll take some time off here and there!

BUT I’m back to work on Monday, for a short week before we close for Easter, and I have little availability for April.
Can’t wait to see you all there ✨

I have one appointment left tomorrow Monday at 3.40pm for 45minutes and a couple of hours on Thursday 10.10am for 90minutes and 1.50pm for one hour.

Upper Back check in ✨ how’s yours doing?

I love to use this move at the end of upper back and shoulder work to warm down and decompress the area, BUT this also serves as a great MFR ( ) technique done at the start of your massage with no balm to really grip on muscles and soft tissue. Here you see me using mid traps trigger points and gripping on the muscle, getting a good stretch through the neck with some shoulder depression and grabbing the all that nuchal ligament tissue in the neck. And yes, this video is sped up x2.5, we’d want to take out time in a session.
Hands down 🙌 one of the best areas to get massaged.. you’re lying if you’re telling me your upper back doesn’t need this 😏
