I see all my friends talking about the blood moon and the lunar eclipse. So I thought I'd share my whakāro.

🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗🌗

Marama Kūtia, the moon in an epic cosmic battle with Whiro

Lunar eclipse = Marama Kūtia
Marama = moon
Kūtia = is the passive word of kuti.
Kuti without the passive means to pinch or to squeeze. Marama kūtia means to crush or squeezed or sandwiched between opposing forces.

The kōrero I have been taught is that marama battles with the atua whiro. Atua of death, disease and illness. Personified in the new moon also named whiro. Whiro lives in a cave in the deep dark part of the universe called
Tai whetukī. Whiro comes out of that cave and tries to attack the moon and tries to take the world into darkness. Hense why the new moon is called whiro. Because that's the atua that rules in the darkness. That is why our people were cautious around the whiro moon phase. The marama at this point at rākaunui is at its best time, representing wellness and goodness. Whiro tries to stop that and attacks the moon. And so they battle. Same goes for a solar eclipse where whiro fights tamanuiterā - the sun. That's called a Rā kūtia. No matter what the sun and moon always wins the battle and the light shines again. Within this time our people where very cautious and observed the changes in the environment and the behavior in people. Then when the light came back, celebration would break out and rejoicing in the Ora, wellness of the people. This teaches us to overcome the illnesses, our darkest days and with perseverance we shine, making way for health and wellbeing.

Rākaunui 🙏🙏🙏

Description
Fishing is good. The bright moonlight makes for bad eeling. A time to be industrious. Schedule occasions around this time.

ENERGY: High - Rakaunui - High hormones both Male & Female

HĪ IKA (FISHING): A very good day for fishing however eels can be wary with the extra light on the water's surface, giving up there hiding spaces. Take care when travelling rural roads as deer are very active making the most of the extra light to travel greater distances in search of fresh food.

MĀRA KAI (GARDENING): A very good day, crops are bountiful harvest as required. Planting above ground crops such as Basil, bok choi, broccoli, cabbage, capsicum, cauliflower, celery, coriander, eggplant, kale, leek, lettuce, mesclun, parsley, potatoes, rhubarb, rocket, silverbeet, spinach however the turning of the moon energy will begin to pull crops into the Earth so the focus is shifting to below ground crops such as beetroot, carrot, onion, parsnip, radish, spring onions.
Below: beetroot, carrot, onion, parsnip, radish, spring onions.

KAI: High kai intake, high veg and protein
KORIKORI TINANA (ACTIVITY): Highest levels of activity in all aspects

ETAHI ATU MEA (OTHER): Push and challenge beyond all limitations - wairua, hinengaro, ngākau, whānau (relationships), tinana; energy most powerful; good time for competition, to pitch ideas and to communicate; time to cut hair as it grows back fuller and thicker. A great time to plan events and hit goals making use of the extra light that shines over the land.

Keep shinning like the moon.

Kia ora koutou katoa! I am honored to be presenting this week at the NZ SPIRIT FEST.
I am deeply passionate and excited to be presenting about IO matangaro and Māori spirituality, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share my insights with everyone attending.

In my presentation, I will delve into the profound connection between IO matangaro and the spiritual essence of Māori culture. Through this exploration, I aim to illuminate the deep spiritual wisdom embedded within Māori traditions and showcase the relevance of this knowledge in today's world. I believe that by embracing and understanding IO matangaro, we can honor and preserve the sacred teachings of Māori spirituality.

Furthermore, I invite you to visit my stall, "Rongoā ngā mata," where I will be offering mirimiri, kawakawa poultice, and a selection of rongoā, traditional Māori herbal remedies and expert advise around natural cancer treatment that works alongside western medicine. These offerings are deeply rooted in the principles of IO matangaro, and I am dedicated to sharing the healing power of these practices with our community.

I am looking forward to engaging with the spirit community, sharing knowledge, and learning from each other's experiences. I believe that by coming together, we can create a more connected and empowered community that respects and honors the wisdom of Māori spirituality. I can't wait to meet all of you and share in this enriching experience. Nau mai, haere mai!

May IO bless you all 🌻🌻🌻
