I’m sorry but it’s time we start our own pay parity fight. $25 000 back pay out total ??? And increase in wages, great for them but still a little girl waits …

The government has boosted its pay equity offer for Te Whatu Ora nurses by $1.5 billion in a bid to end a long-running dispute over pay rates and backpay.

Our workplace is being really obstructive with the pay parity increase, initially stating that only nzno nurses were eligible and then when provided evidence from nurses society, they've since said that our PHO has not given any advice regarding the pay increase. Is there any NHC workplaces that have had any communication about the pay parity and how do we communicate our concerns?

Kia Ora team!!! just following up, can we ask on the page if any workplaces have acknowledged the pay parity that should be coming in next month, and how we should be challenging our employers about the same??? I think we take too much stuff lying down, we should be proactive about this!

Kia ora team ❤️ how is everyone feeling about the lack of progress with the PHC negotiations ? I am aware that the number of PHC nurses leaving is steadily increasing and this is tragic for our industry and the care we are meant to be providing. I feel we are sitting stagnant at this point 🙄

This article is interesting but there are some warning bells

The government has asked the health authority to reinvestigate the pay gap for community nurses, who are leaving their employers in droves for better paying roles in public hospitals.

Kia Ora, I hope everyone is doing ok ❤️ it certainly is very deflating watching our colleagues that work for Te Whatu Ora get their pay outs. Hopefully this will set the precedence moving forward for our case ! Feel free to share any thoughts on this. I have 2 questions. 1- can anyone else post on this page ? 2- for those involved in the Bexero roll out.. have you thought about how you will manage and prepare parents for the paracetamol 30 mins before vaccination ? I’m a little concerned with the increase in workload this will bring and Flu vaccinations won’t be too long after we commence this. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts they may want to discuss ? 🥰

This is good to see, NZNO are fighting for much more than the interim rates that have been set out in this information. We need to fight to be acknowledged and valued just the same !

Kia ora and welcome 😃
As Primary Health Care Workers, we are all feeling deflated and undervalued! We have been excluded from recent pay negotiations, why? What a kick in the teeth for us all….All nurses save lives! We have been at the forefront of managing Covid patients this year. New Zealand would not have been able cope without us! We have done this, while still providing all our usual health services. We work hard both to maintain the physical and mental health of our patients and manage complex health conditions in the community. This is to reduce pressure on tertiary providers. I cannot fathom why, Te Whatu Ora nurses are getting pay parity so that equality is restored between nurses and male workers in similar occupations. How does this not include nurses in all work environments? Many Primary health care nurses are now considering leaving primary healthcare to work at Te Whatu Ora, because the cost of living is so high. Where is this going leave the primary sector? One that is already understaffed 😌 how are we going to retain or attract new graduates and fresh blood? how is this good for the health and well-being of our New Zealand people? How is this any good for our own health and well-being? This is a place we can all come together to express our feelings and collaborate. Please be kind to others and keep this a supportive page that we could all benefit from. We are going to fight this side by side, show our strength and that we will not be ignored ❤️
