It doesn’t get easier.

The pain
the flares
The letting people down
Cancelling plans last minute
Asking for help
The hospital visits
The needles
The rehab
The trauma
The letting go
The accepting
The fear

None of it gets easier.
But the ability to adapt becomes easier.

You learn to bend so you don’t break
You learn to shift with change
You learn ways to grieve
You learn how to move on swiftly.
You learn to hold yourself.
You slowly learn to accept what is
Even though what is
Is different in every single moment.
You learn to how to roll with the unknown.

You become more efficient
You deal quicker
You move through the motions faster

You learn to accept that the way you move through life is different.
And has to be different.

Thank you to those who covered my classes the last few days while my back had a freak out and couldn’t move.
Thank you clients for understanding the last minute shifts.

Thank you to everyone who adapts with me in this lifetime - for making the stuff that doesn’t get easier feel a little easier 🩷

I’m really having to learn the art of surrender at the moment.

Especially when it comes to acceptance of where I’m at vs where I’d like to be in my mind.

My yin practice has picked back up as I use movement and breath as a way to slow down and flow into this surrender rather than fight against it.

When things get hard I notice my body wanting to contract and hide so instead I keep asking the question how can I remain open through this? even when it’s hard, especially when it’s hard.

So enter a whole lot of heart and chest opening practices in my life of late - this pose being one of my favourites. A few minutes of this with some conscious deep breathing with extended exhales helps both physically and emotionally when things feel tight, painful and icky in the chest 👌🏻

What’s your favourite heart opening pose or go to thing? 👇🏻

A theme throughout my life is I’ve always experienced such intense beautiful moments along side some really brutal moments.

So this is life lately. Both beautiful and brutal.

It feels like I’m simultaneously falling apart and being broken open at the same time as I embracing this messy human life that’s rolling up and down pretty intensely for me right now.

Trying to flow with the waves as I enter the next chapter and whatever magic wild times that will bring knowing that change is the only thing that is constant 🩷

Dear community, As we transition through Autumn into winter I have definitely felt a shift in pace within my body - a craving for slower cosy days. My outer world has seemed to reflect this as I find myself teaching more slow mellow yoga classes and receiving feedback that people really need spaces....

For those of you who have been following on and asking I have written a 3 month update post on following the carnivore diet.

I started due to high levels of inflammation in my lungs and chest, struggling to breath properly and I’m so happy I managed to get that under control without steroids or medication so fast with this diet.

It has its pros and cons for me.

Read the full blog on my website or link in bio to find out what worked, what didn’t and what now…

Lately I’ve been stuck in this cycle. The one where I over complicate healing, trying to find answers to autoimmune symptoms that keep popping up.

I’ve been here many times. I know it’s out of a sense of determination to get well but every time I get stuck deep in the cycle and go deeper the more disease I create within my body. The more I push my body into these spaces, the more it pushes back.

The word ease to me means flow and easy. If something your doing for your health feels hard or like work or like something you don’t look forward to doing you continue to create that loop of feeling a disease. The more I tell my body to hurry up and get well the more urgency I create within keeping me stuck in survival mode feeling like I need to do more to get better when really I need to take a step back toward ease.

I’ve been feeling into what kind of things I can change in my life to create more ease. And this has meant taking a step back from “doing the work” or “healing” as some may call it and connecting to other things. It has also meant starting a new medication which I really didn’t want to have to take due to the side effects. But instantly in that decision to take the support from conventional medicine my body has let go of so much it was holding onto trying to figure out all the answers alone.

Most people on the healing path are already living in exhausted bodies that need to surrender and stop, not take on things that push them further into disease. Sometimes the hardest thing we can do as a human is to let go of control and do nothing. And choose the path that gives us a break even if it’s the path we desperately have tried to avoid. Sometimes we have to take the hands of support offered from all angles so that we can finally allow our bodies to be at ease. And surrender to accepting the current flow of our life ❤️

Harsh truth and probably an unpopular opinion.

Yes these things all have their purpose and their place and can help you feel better temporarily. But at some point to really regulate your nervous system and live in your body with a sense of ease and peace you will have to work with the feelings sitting under the surface.

Sometimes these healthy lifestyle hacks become another route for us to avoid the work of sitting with our feelings. You can have the most optimal routine in place but if your still stuck in survival mode you will still feel anxious, disconnected and exhausted.

Your nervous system is craving safety - not another hack. It needs regulation so that you can slow down, feel and be without constant productivity.

This is where the healing really begins and where real change sticks.

This has been a huge practice and pivot in my healing. Let me know if this resonates with you ♥️👇🏻

Come home to your body

There was a time where I felt lost. Lost in a state of dis"ease”, lost in stories that I had created in my mind, lost in even knowing where to begin to start to feel better. Diagnosed with multiple autoimmune conditions from the age of 9, i've been on a long journey of self-realisation and healing, learning a lot on the way. With the use of yoga as medicine (its true intention), I have managed to heal several of my own dis”eases”. I now live in a healthy pain free body that I can finally call home and am on a mission to share how yoga and living a holistic lifestyle can truly transform any dis"ease".
