Introducing guest speaker for first fundraising event in 10 days....Jane Catherine Severn is the founder and facilitator of Luna House

As a young woman she was deeply unimpressed with the inconvenience and discomforts of her menstrual cycle. Then at age 25 the accidental discovery that women’s monthly changes match those of the moon filled her with excitement and set her on a quest that would become her life’s work. Amazed at the transformation this one fragment of knowledge had brought to her own feelings about being female, she sensed the presence of a much greater revelation that could give all girls and women a new view of themselves and their place in the world.

Quickly realising that conventional methods of search and research would not yield the kind of knowledge she was seeking, Jane Catherine knew she had to learn how to learn in a whole new way. Her deep respect for the ways of Nature, and her absolute faith in the integrity of our innate female design allowed her to see through the limits and distortions we have inherited from millennia of dislike and distrust of menstrual cycles, menopause and cronehood. With a willingness to learn from the thing we are studying, and not assuming we already know, we can be shown a new reality. Jane Catherine’s 40 years of close study of women’s hormonal processes have revealed to her a design of exquisite beauty and purpose that has become the ever-expanding body of knowledge she teaches at Luna House.

In addition to her pioneering work as a Menstruality Educator, Jane Catherine is a Psychotherapist, Pascha Therapist and Supervisor, offering consultations in her private practice in Christchurch, Aotearoa (New Zealand). She is a writer and is currently making her unique and original knowledge of women’s hormonal design available through a series of books.

•⁣➰ Summer Harvest ➰•⁣

This year I had my first crop of Californian Poppy and Chamomile. I have loved having these flowers in my garden this summer. Harvested in the early morning when their medicinal properties are at their peak.

Californian Poppy is actually considered a w**d here in NZ but this potent plant medicine is incredibly good for your nervous system. My Stardust sleep tea and drops contain this beautiful flowers magic.

Chamomile is one of the worlds most underestimated medicinal plants. It’s one of the most powerful plants we have in our medicine basket and one we all need to have. It soothes pain, headaches, calms the nervous system and settles digestion.

Sprinkle some seeds in your garden next spring and watch these delightful flowers bob their heads in the summer breeze. I love my little routine of collecting flowers each morning, to allow fresh buds to burst into life for me a few days later.

I recently went for a plunge into this sacred water, a place of stunning beauty and ancient wisdom. Each time I visit this magical place it presents itself to me differently. On a clear sunny sky a bright and magnificent aqua blue, on an overcast day a glorious green. ⁣
⁣
I am fascinated by the concept of the consciousness of water.
⁣
The extraordinary life work of Dr Maseru Emoto demonstrated that water is shaped by environment, sounds, thoughts, intentions and emotions. ⁣His work shows that this could be one of the most important discoveries of all time.
⁣
The following photos show you my experiments with water using a process provided by Veda Austin, who continues to expand the work of Dr Maseru Emoto. ⁣
⁣
𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝟭: Taken at the Blue Pools in Central Otago (a place I always feel an incredible amount of healing). ⁣
⁣
𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝟮: Taken using the Veda’s water freezing technique with Pure Water taken from a deep artesian aquifer in Christchurch. Note the “fronds” within the water crystals - showing a truly open, light and natural crystal formation. It feels earth bound and reflects its origins. A true blessing to drink. ⁣
⁣
𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝟯: Taken using water that has been alkalinized from the North Island. This water feels compacted, unable to breathe, having the life essence taken from it. The crystals look dense and heavy. I would not drink this. ⁣
⁣
𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝟰: Pure artesian water. I then held the Petri dish in my hand and manifested pure love and light for around 30 seconds. As you can see a heart shape appeared in the water crystals. Quite extraordinary. ⁣

My experiments continue and through these experiments my belief around the consciousness of water is expanding. What if we took these basic ideas and applied them to our bodies?⁣

The question I ask you is: If our bodies are made up of 70-80% water what do you think the possibilities are if we apply the concept of “water consciousness” to ourselves? ⁣

I have already answered this myself so feel compelled to share this incredible research and maybe expand on it yourself. ⁣

•⁣➰ Deep Ocean Treasures ➰•⁣

The oceans hold around 95% of the the earths water and cover 71% of its surface. Yet we mainly eat plants from the land. Have you considered the wealth of nutrients contained below the waters of our oceans?

Sea vegetables (seaw**ds) differ from most other land-based foods as they are not dependent on obtaining their nutrients via their root system in soil. Their roots are designed to allow them to attach themselves to the ocean floor, absorbing their minerals from the constant flow of the seawater around them. Seaw**d has the incredible capacity to absorb and bioaccumulate the minerals contained within the seawater.

All sea vegetables are a good source of dietary fiber, minerals, and iodine.

The thing that I love about sea vegetables as that by growing they do not deplete the local supply of minerals as they grow, they retain their high levels of minerals within them no matter where they grow in the ocean. Unlike our land plants which deplete our soils of essential minerals which we are unable to replace. Our soils are dying.

By slipping some sea vegetables into your daily routine you can top up your minerals and vitamins from a sustainable and never ending source: our magnificent ocean.

Some of the most well known sea vegetables are: Arame, Kombu, Hijiki, Nori, Dulse and Wakame.

All New Zealand seaw**ds are edible and include: Sea lettuce, Wakame (introduced), Karengo and Bladder Kelp.

Im going to be experimenting with making seaw**d seasonings and liquid plant food for my garden over the next few months. I am stunned at how little this is talked about in terms of an easily foraged, nutrient rich and tasty addition to our diet which all of us have access to.

Im never too far from the ocean. It soothes me, The moody depths of her waters allow me to imagine endless possibilities in life. Ever changing, always moving, relentless in her ebb and flow.

She holds such mystery, yet offers us so much nourishment and wisdom. A consciousness contained with her that holds such power.

I always reflect on the fact that we need her, she doesn’t need us.

That realisation always floods me with huge respect and wonder.

•⁣➰ Tournesol ➰•⁣

“Tournesol” is the name for Sunflowers in French.

Tourne=Turn and Sol (Soleil)=Sun meaning “Turned toward the Sun”.

Sunflowers are heliotropic, meaning they turn their flowers throughout the day to follow the movement of the sun across the sky. So when you visit the sunflowers fields in France the thousands of flowers spend their day turned toward the direction of the sun in the sky. When the sun moves, they move their bright yellow faces towards the light.

This giant sunflower and two others magically appeared this summer in my garden and have astounded me at how huge they have grown.

They remind me of the beauty of the randomness of nature and its magnificence. Next summer I think we will we will have a forest of these in their place.

To me this sunflower represents all the many possibilities in the world that can come from one small seed.

From one comes many. It only takes one.

Plant a seed of light in your world and nurture it into something beautiful - the potential possibilities are endless.

Sometimes we just need to take a pause to appreciate and absorb how truly magical our planet is!

Maybe then we can understand how important she is to us.

This moment can never be recreated. That is what I love about the randomness of Mother Nature!
