Discovering your type can reveal your motivations, habits and blind spots, helping you understand yourself more deeply and relate to others with greater compassion.

We have new availability in our Wellspring Room. We are looking for practitioners who would like to rent our Wellspring room at Cherish to offer their gifts to the community.

The wellspring room is a space for seeing clients privately. It consists of two smaller rooms, one with comfy seats for dialogue, and one with a massage table for various forms of therapeutic support.

We have Thursday mornings, Saturday all day, and Sunday mornings available.

If you are interested, please fill out this form (link in bio as well): https://forms.gle/kTMeRoK9D9fKXgKT6

We are a community first at Cherish, so the right person for us would be someone who aligns with our values, and is looking to be part of a wider community that share an aspiration to support people to live well.

Many of us were never taught how to truly listen, especially in moments of conflict.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC), developed by Marshall Rosenberg, offers a simple but uncommon practice: listening for what really matters. Beneath reactions and opinions are needs, values, and longings. When we learn to hear these in ourselves and others, conflict can shift from something to avoid into something that can deepen understanding and connection.

This kind of listening does not mean agreeing or fixing. It means learning to stay present, curious, and honest at the same time. It is a skill that can transform relationships, collaboration, and even how we relate to ourselves.

If you are curious to experience this in practice:

Listening with Love: Meet Conflict Creatively
with Valerie Wycoff and Jim Lovell-Smith

📅 Thurs Feb 12 | 7:00–8:30 PM
or
📅 Mon Feb 16 | 10:00–11:30 AM

Cost: $15–40 (your choice)

They will explore common listening traps, practice stepping into another’s perspective, and discover how caring for everyone’s needs can open new possibilities in conflict.

For each of you and for me:
“You are that integral, that crucial, that bright.”

In Case You Don't Know Already

One day you will wake
and discover you are a sun,
radiant, fueled by your own core,
capable of luminosity so great
you blaze through lightyears of darkness.
You will know your own power
and it will never occur to you
not to trust it, not to share it.
You will not be able to forget
your own magnitude.
Nor will such glory be a burden.
You will simply shine
because that is who you are.
No need to apologize.
No reason to be jealous
of any other sun,
of any other star.
On that day,
you will see how it is
you have always been a sun,
even in the darkest days.
Then, you were also the clouds
and the great shadow
that made you stop
believing in your light.
You are, in fact,
what makes the day itself—
you are that integral,
that crucial,
that bright.

Thought for the day:
“Together we make unstopable waves - how they roar”

Currents

I walk to the river and see how the banks
have changed since even two days ago.
Now water flows through the bright red willows
instead of staying in the main channel.
I remember how it used to run right here
where I am standing until a mighty flash
flood altered its course and there was not
a damn thing anyone could have done to stop it.

There is, even now, a rising flood of love.
It will move anything that tries to impede it.
When I can’t hear the flood of love,
that’s when I know it is up to me to share love
so someone else hears the currents I’m listening for.
Together we make unstoppable waves—how they roar.
