Feeling Stressed, Overwhelmed or Tired?

I always find this time of year challenging — as it heads into the busy season, I often struggle with sleep and feelings of overwhelm.

Because I love my dōTERRA CPTG® essential oils and know their incredible physical and emotional benefits, I’ll be leaning on them in the lead-up to Christmas.

I follow the following steps when needed
✨ Diffuse calming oils like Lavender, Valerian, and Cedarwood
✨ Apply my Lavender Peace Stick when things feel overwhelming
✨ Take a Lavender Peace Soft Gel if extra sleep support needed
✨ Do some gentle stretching or yoga
✨ Relax in a hot bath with soothing bath salts and essential oils
✨ At bedtime, set my diffuser, apply Lavender Peace Stick, and keep my sleep inhaler by my bed

✨ Frankincense Resin vs Essential Oil – The Boswellic Acid Story ✨

Most people know and love Frankincense essential oil for its grounding aroma and skin-loving qualities. But did you know… the powerful anti-inflammatory compounds in frankincense — called boswellic acids — are not found in the essential oil?

That’s because boswellic acids are non-volatile. They don’t come over in steam distillation, which is how essential oils are made. Instead, they stay behind in the resin.

🌿 Why boswellic acids matter:

Shown in research to support healthy inflammation response

Used traditionally for easing stiff joints & muscles

Can help soothe and nourish skin stressed by the environment

✨ How to capture them:

Since boswellic acids love oils, one of the best ways to access them is by infusing the raw resin into a carrier oil. This allows those valuable compounds to migrate into the oil, creating a rich base for salves, balms, and skincare.

💡 The takeaway:

Frankincense essential oil = beautiful for aroma, emotional balance, & skin toning

Frankincense resin (and its boswellic acids) = amazing for deeper soothing, especially when infused in oil
