We pride ourselves on the high standard of support we provide to people, which has been achieved through employing dedicated staff and backed by a strong philosophy which has people’s rights at the forefront of our service provision.
We have Permanent Part time and casual/on call positions in our residential home based in Fernside, North Canterbury. The positions include morning/afternoon/evening and awake night shifts.

Essential skills / Experience for the role
Ngā tino Pūkenga / Wheako
Full Driver Licence
Eligibility to work in New Zealand
Be a ‘people person’, a good communicator, patient, and calm. Someone who is genuinely interested in people, and can develop positive relationships
Ideally have a Level 3 Certificate in Health & Wellbeing Support Work (or be willing to gain this qualification with our support and at no cost to you)
Experience in supporting people with an intellectual disability is preferable but, your skills, personal qualities, and aptitude for the job are the most important
Knowledge of, and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
High ethical standards. Honest and reliable with complete integrity. Practical and ‘down to earth’, good common sense and the all-important sense of humour!
A commitment to maintaining a positive team culture and striving for excellence
The flexibility to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

The role
He korero mo te turanga
You will:
Be based at the residential home(s) as specified. We operate a fixed fortnightly roster so you will always know in advance what your working hours are.
Form positive relationships with people living there, helping them to achieve their goals by focusing on their aspirations and strengths
Work alongside people, supporting them with their everyday living and household tasks, enabling independence, choice, autonomy, and to be part of the community. Assisting with their personal cares, preparing meals, household management, with shopping, leisure, and work activities etc.
Have a Key Worker Role with specified people contributing to the development and monitoring of support planning
Follow all systems and processes, house routines, policy, and procedure
Adhere to the Health and Disability Commission ‘Code of Rights’ for people receiving a health and disability service.
Keep written information and records as required
Be an awesome team member

We have a part time, casual position available in our residential home based in the Burwood area of Christchurch. The position includes morning/afternoon/evening and sleepover shifts. Regular additional hours are always available to cover staff leave as we don't use casual or bureau staff.
