My first workshop delivered today back in NZ as an OT, the topic, 'Dealing with Change'. A very different participant group in my role at Archer villages and care homes, compared to my work in Vanuatu but it was a great to be back in the workshop facilitator role.
I have faced and dealt with quite alot of change over the past year, returning to NZ...
The 'tool' box and stories were shared and appreciated.

2 weeks back home in Vanuatu to deliver 8 workshops and 17 life coaching sessions.
The people, the stories, the journeys and having the privilege of hearing and being a part of them is an absolute honor.
I have learnt that when you pour out, your cup gets refilled. I love my calling and feel so blessed to have these opportunities.

While living and working as an Occupational Therapist and Life Coach in Vanuatu for the past 19 years, on my return to New Zealand 2 months ago there was the need to re register as an OT to practice in NZ.
The re registration process is quite a big undertaking ( it felt like a small mount Everest climb ). It took determination and desire, dedication and diligence but today I recieved the email from the OT board that my registration had been approved.

The hours of time invested, hard work and thought to produce the 24 page document demonstrating 5 key compentencies with 49 responses required paid off.

I value my Occupational Therapy profession and identity and so the investment of this process was important and worthwhile.

'Self treat' is one of my components of ' Self care' so it was no surprise to anyone who knows me well, that I invested in a ' Self treat' by buying myself some fine and delicious tea and new slippers. Both are part of my Self- Care/well-being strategies, a cup of tea and some comfy, homely slippers'.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me through this process, I valued and appreciated your support so much.
Now it's time to bring back Jinny Ruben into the Aotearoa OT feild and watch the journey that unfolds.

A great leader has fallen from our forest.... A hero and role model.... Arthur... You have run the good race, you deserve to rest in peace for eternity....
You leave behind a legacy which we will cherish and respect.
So going back 18 years, I met Arthur when I first came to Vanuatu and worked with Vanuatu Society for people with Disabilities, he needed a new wheel chair and I helped measure and order one specifically for him... Fast forward to two weeks ago...
I facilitated a leadership workshop with Steve and Chantelle through the volley 4 change program at VSPD.

As we started the workshop, Arthur shared the story and paid tribute to the help I had given him all those years back ( it sparked my long term memory, but he hadn't forgotten). He then suggested a participant who couldn't speak could open in sign prayer which was powerful and impacting. The workshop included sharing the true qualities of each participant and the team eagerly and openly shared Arthur's qualities, tears welled up in his eyes and he was deeply touched... Little did we know, two week later, he would leave us and this workshop enabled such special sharing with him as a true leader.
He then went on to share his story, the extreme struggles he and his family faces through his education journey...the story was recorded....
I took this individual profile picture with the mirror, he truly reflects the qualities of a great leader.
You never know when it will be the last. Make every moment count!!!
I will cherish this workshop and this dear man... Arthur.

Wilkins Family Foundation 2023 leadership RISE camp....
Fun, friendship, fantastic food and such special times of team building and sharing and learning together.
The camp kicked off with sharing laplap sorsor and listening to the inspiration stories of Mr Wilkins and his leadership. Simon and Jerry shared these stories and the values lived out which formed a wonderful foundation and set the scene for the next two days.
Day 1 included group workshops, survivor games and 3 inspirational women sharing their stories to empower our young women. 'Tell your story, share your story, make your stories count'... Is always so powerful. Thank you to Sherol, Minnie and Simone.
Day 2 included leadership workshops and a impacting session with Wilson Toa and 'tru the lens' film, then onto a creative craft workshop to say it, frame it and live it..ending on the finale dinner with foundation friends and family and speeches and performance.
Here are some moments and memories...
Thank you Wilkins'Family Foundation for all you do in making a huge difference in the lives of our young women in education and leadership..

Yumi on wetem Vanuatu products and industry.
It has been a privilege to journey along side a number of local industry business in Shefa and Santo as a Business and Life coach over the past year through VCCI and the Industrial Development Fund project.

The highs and the lows, the challenges and struggles and the stories that make it worth it.

I completely take my hat off to anyone doing business in Vanuatu, it is not for the faint hearted but passion, resilience and commitment are qualities that I have seen time and time again.
