Last month, residents enjoyed a bespoke Scottish whisky tasting experience with Highland Fern Whisky. Guided by their knowledgeable team, we sampled five outstanding single malt whiskies while learning about their unique origins, flavours, and traditions. It was a warm and engaging afternoon full of rich stories, bold flavours, and a true taste of Scotland. Slàinte! 🥃🏴

Now in its 35th year, this initiative celebrates the effort and care locals put into keeping Christchurch beautiful. Last month, we marked Cinco de Mayo — a celebration of Mexico’s 1862 victory over France — with a vibrant Mexican-themed cooking class hosted by the fantastic Kahlo Cooking School. Residents learned to make delicious green chicken enchiladas and enjoyed the meal together afterwards. A fun, flavourful evening full of learning, laughter, and great food! 🌮🇲🇽👨‍🍳

We were delighted to welcome Alyssa, a registered nutritionist from Youtrition, to Banbury Park for an inspiring and practical talk on healthy living.

Alyssa shared simple, realistic tips for boosting energy, staying well through the colder months, and incorporating easy, nutritious meals into our routines—without giving up the foods and drinks we love. Her approach was refreshingly down-to-earth and left everyone feeling motivated and informed.

Earlier this month, Banbury residents enjoyed a fantastic outing aboard the Weka Pass Railway Train, travelling from Glenmark to Waikari and back in true vintage style! Operated entirely by passionate volunteers, the Weka Pass Railway offered a nostalgic journey through the stunning limestone landscapes of North Canterbury. 🚂

After arriving in Waikari, we had time to explore the charming township. The return journey was just as delightful, with everyone enjoying the rhythmic clatter of the train and the scenic views.

Adventure Walkers Took on Harry Ell! 🌄

Our Banbury Park Adventure Walkers laced up their boots for the Harry Ell Track, a 6km out-and-back walk that rewards effort with breathtaking views over Christchurch from the top of the Port Hills.

TRILife Wellness Day was a fantastic celebration of movement, mindfulness, and nourishment! 🌿

We gathered at The Regal to explore new ways to move, starting with taster sessions of Yoga, Qi Gong, Zumba, and a high-energy Bootcamp 💪. After working up an appetite, we enjoyed delicious smoothies and slices for morning tea.

The day wrapped up with an insightful talk from Nutritionist Alyssa from Youtrition, who shared valuable tips on healthy living and balanced nutrition 🥑.
