I was on my way to treat Petal, a five-year-old warmblood mare, when I was forced to pull over on the side of the road due to severe pains in my chest, back, head and jaw. As the pain intensified I became quite concerned and contemplated calling an ambulance. However, I was also curious and not entirely sure the pains were mine. I felt perhaps they were being mirrored energetically. When I checked my energy I realised this was indeed the case. By acknowledging this the pain quickly subsided and I was able to continue on my way.
Upon my arrival and seeing Petal, I began burping and wondered if the pains I had experienced were intestinal gas. I was eager to learn about what had been going on for Petal and if this was related.
Petal was pretty out of sorts. She was moody, reactive around her poll, difficult to catch and bridal and had lost condition over the last few months. She wasn’t engaging her body correctly, seemed uncomfortable and was becoming dangerous to ride. She’d been given medication from the vet, had x-rays, had her teeth done as well as chiropractic adjustments and bodywork. The vet suggested her next steps would be more extensive dental work and an MRI.
I checked Petal’s energy and she had quite a lot going on. She was internalising anxiety and holding onto past trauma which was causing physical issues and also affecting her vitality. She needed some Bach flowers to begin with and both of her stifles needed attention, as well as her point of shoulder on her right side, which I was later told was the area which took the full impact when Petal ran into a metal gate.
When I tuned in and checked which essential oils Petal required they were mostly related to digestion and intestinal gas…. Bingo!!
She showed a keen interest in all of them, eagerly licking them from my hand and exhibiting the flehmens response to take in more of the scent.
As I continued working on Petal, I could feel more trapped gas building up in my abdomen. She gave some lovely tummy gurgles and started blinking slowly. As the energy shifted around her abdomen she settled more.
Petal finished with her oils and I did some work to release the trauma around being caught up in the fence and hurting her leg, and subsequently receiving injections from the vet which has caused her to be reactive around needles. Petal had some releases around this but I felt there was another trauma we hadn’t yet dealt with which was integral to her healing. I worked through an incident which occurred with a previous trainer and Petal had some deeper releases. I treated Petal’s stifles and shoulder and her eyes softened and she relaxed into her body more.
After her treatment Petal was calmer, happier and more relaxed. Whilst we still have more work to do around wearing her bridle, it’s is a great start having her calmer and happier in herself. I’m looking forward to working through the next layer of healing when I see her again for a follow-up session. 🩷✨
