Forget sand paper on the nip - seriously I’ve heard that recommended before 😂

This is what I tell parents who are preparing to breastfeed. While there is never anything the fully prepared you this list helps ensure your bases are covered. So go have a fo**le, book a class, have a chat, right and list and pop some money aside just in case.

Share this one with any expecting parents you know and tell them to avoid any sandpaper 😉

Forever my favourite photo in 30 years of friendship. Just mums being mums. A little over a year ago this photo was taken with the bride being one of my longest friends.

And a week later life was looking very different

Today she runs the chch marathon in honour of Carl and to raise funds for brain cancer research. Because research saves lives.

To say I’m proud of her is an understatement - if you are in a position to donate please do, we have personally and from the business.

Before you buy another supplement or start triple feeding, watch this.

Low milk supply is one of the biggest fears new mums have. And the fear makes complete sense. But here is the thing.

True low supply is actually a lot less common than most people think. Most of the time, what looks like a supply problem is something else entirely.

Something that can usually be sorted with the right support. Comment EMAIL below and I will add you to my list where I share the things you need to know direct to your inbox.

We don’t actually share a room right now.

Not because things are bad. We genuinely chose this. He takes the early morning shift so I can get a solid stretch of sleep, and honestly it’s the reason we’re both still functioning. Divide and conquer. It works.

BUT.
2am me doesn’t always remember that part.

2am me is feral. Irrational. Deeply resentful of anyone who is horizontal and breathing quietly. And apparently very committed to texting about it.

I do love him. Truly. He is a wonderful human who voluntarily gets up at 5am so I can sleep. I would like to be clear about that.

I would also like to be clear that at 2am, none of that matters and I hope he and his useless ni***es are very comfortable in there.

If you’ve sent something unhinged to your partner from the other side of the house, drop it below 👇 I need to know I’m not alone in this.

(And if you’re deep in the newborn trenches right now and it feels endless, it does get easier. The 2am texts might be forever though.)

Normalise the normal!!!

Stop doubting your own milk supply based on someone else’s output on social media.

Stop comparing yourself to other mums with crazy supplies on social media.

I’ve seen women express the total volume a baby has in a day in one pump session it’s nuts!! And the thing is supplies like that come with a whole raft of other potential issues - they are not the goal!

A baby on average drinks around 750ml of milk in 24 hours once your supply is established that stays the same until solids start to take over and it declines. So that’s all the milk you need to make in 24 hours.

Normalise the normal!! And please please stop doubting your supply because someone can pump more than you❤️

Having expressed colostrum is amazing but there’s something you need to know if you are going to use it.

Your body works off supply and demand so if it doesn’t come direct from the source at the time it can mess with this process. So as a general rule if you use it you need to express to replace it, either by hand or with a pump❤️
