This is me, I'm a regular no frills, no bs mum. I've never wanted to be a gym buff or run a marathon, I move solely for mental health (and a little bit of vanity when I see my bum starting to sag). I have so much respect for those who do have bigger goals. It's just personally never been my drive. I know that for me personally, if I dont exercise, my body falls apart, and im not a nice person to be around ๐
Becoming a Personal Trainer was quite a spur of the moment decision. Im the kind of person who either over thinks and tries to rationalize every decision OR makes rash decisions on impulse that usually dont work out... This was one of those pretty rash decisions, but I like to think it was a good one! When I had my second child, I returned to exercise at 6 weeks postpartum and went along to specifically targeted bootcamps for mums. I loved the exercise but noticed that my postpartum body was doing some weird things and not all of them good. The more I read, the more I realized that i had missed a vital step in rehabilitating my body after birthing a child. I did a quick and amazing course in postpartum exercise, which sparked an interest in me that I didn't know was there. After a year teaching a beautiful, very specific mums & bubs class, I decided to extend my knowledge and become a qualified Personal Trainer.
My goal as a PT is to work with women in a gentle, supportive capacity that offers them the chance to move in a way that feels good for them and a place that they can come with the kids in tow if they need to. I now run a mixture of mums & bubs classes and one on one sessions with my ladies, and I absolutely love it.
