Exercise with kids isn’t always peaceful and perfectly timed workouts 😅

Sometimes it looks like this…

Toddlers stealing dumbbells, kids crawling through circuits, snack breaks mid-set and absolute chaos everywhere.

But honestly? That’s the magic of it. ❤️

Movement doesn’t have to be perfect to count. Showing up amongst the mess, the noise and the little humans climbing on you is still something to be proud of.

And for our kids, seeing mums move their bodies, prioritise themselves and have fun doing it is pretty powerful too 💪✨

As we head into the cooler months its a great time to think about your health and fitness. I run a mixture of 1:1 sessions and group sessions from both my home gym and around the community.

Tuesdays, Thursday's and Friday's I run a women's strength circuit from my home gym, with a maximum of 6 ladies per session. Beginner friendly and kids welcome.

Monday's and Wednesday's I run Kangatraining in Rolleston and Springston which is the perfect postnatal class, gentle on your body and your baby is right with you the whole time.

1:1 sessions can be run from my home gym, I can come to you or we can jump on Zoom.

New timetable for Autumn - Winter 🍂

Strength circuit classes with a maximum of 6 mums per class, run from my home gym in Springston. Easily scaled up or down based on your own fitness level. Bubs welcome in prams or I have a play pen set up.

Tuesdays and Thursdays 1.30pm
Fridays 11am
Pricing is for the week to keep things simple, so you can come once, twice or three times. Any questions or if you're keen to come along, pop me a message :)

Hey ladies, I am going to gradually start (trying) to merge this page over to https://www.facebook.com/kangatrainingselwyn

Im super tech savvy (not) so it may take me a while but if you notice name changes just roll with it. If you want to go over and like/follow Kangatraining Selwyn by yourself that would be epic. I will be changing the name to include Personal Training however you can only change the name once every 60 days and I've already changed it once lol!

So what is Kangatraining?

Kanga is a specifically designed postnatal exercise class. You're baby is safely tucked into a carrier where they will often snooze while you focus on yourself for an hour of movement. Class starts with some floor work (before the carriers go on) and then moves into some dance, lower body strength work - squats, lunges and barre, and finally some upper body work. There's a huge focus on safe, gentle movements so keeping squats narrow and gently engaging your core and pelvic floor throughout. You dont have to be a dancer or even particularly coordinated to join in, trust me when I say I am neither or those things 😉 You just have to want to move your body and commit to getting out of the house.

In what feels like another life, I used to run a mums and bubs class called Kangatraining. Emilia (our 2nd born) was just a little Bubba when I started and we danced our way through the first 4 years of her life with some incredible mums wanting to stay healthy and strong as they also embarked on motherhood.

Kangatraining is an amazing postnatal class where movement comes from simple dances, squats, lunges and even some choreographed arm movements all while bub snuggles in a baby carrier. There's a real focus on community and building strength through safe, gentle movements in those early postpartum days. Over the next week ill share some graphics and some information on the classes while I gage whether there's enough interest in running classes here in Selwyn. I'll also be looking for low key, affordable venue options so if you know of a community space or church hall near you that would be great for a class pop me a message with the details!

Ladies, would Personal Training and just exercise in general be easier if you didnt need to leave your home??

I used to be fully mobile until Cora was born and then stopped so I could have her at home with me. However.... she starts school in April!! I know, my last baby is heading off to school 😭 but its got me thinking, maybe its time to throw the dumbells in the car and bring training to you again. I would still work from home the days that I do now but before I look at extending my hours, let me know in the comments or flick me a message if you'd like to chat about mobile PT.
